My baby just turned 1 year last august 8 and i'm a bit worried that she's not walking yet.. She walks when being held and she can stand alone but she does not really take a step. I just saw an 11 month baby and she's already pro in walking.. Any 1 year old there that's not walking yet??

My son will be 1 in about 2 weeks, and does the same thing. Stands pretty well while holding something, will take steps if I am holding his hands, but doesn't take steps on his own yet. I just try to practice with him every day, and I am sure it will just happen randomly one day like all his other milestones! (sitting up, crawling, laughing, etc). My Dr. actually told me the average age babies start walking is 13 months.

Annette turned 1 on the 8th as well. She still is not walking on her own yet only with help or along things. Don't worry, some kids don't walk solo until 15-18 months.

My 1 year old is not walking and she doesn't show any interest. My boys walked after they were one but they did show interest. Walking will be on their own time.

My boys both walked at a year. My daughter just started crawling at a year. And she didn't walk till she was almost 18 months. Every child is different.

My daughter turned one Aug 4 and she isnt really walking either...she can definately hold on to furniture and "surf" as they say but she tries when she feels like it....and trust me at the speed she crawls now (which is lightning fast) im not really lookin forward to her running everywhere lol!

My son turned 1 on Aug 3rd and isn't walking. He went for his 1 yrs chk-up and the Dr said it is no big deal they all do things at their own paces and some do them faster then others. Your little one might potty train quicker then someone else's child that walked before yours.. Ya just never know.. My daughter walked at 8 months and my son didn't even start crawling until 9 months.. Now he is like a crazy boy all over the place.. I wouldn't worry in the least.. Trust me its A LOT more work when they do start walking.. LOL! Enjoy your little one at all stages it goes by sooo fast!

My twins turned 1 on august 9th, my little boy doesn't seem interested in even trying, he's happy to just walk along the furniture or crawl.. My little girl is trying to take steps on her own, she will walk about 3 steps and then falls. I think she gets really frustrated. every child is different, my granddaughter was walking at 11 months, but she was trying to keep up with her older sister.. She will be on the run soon, don't worry..

My daughter will be 1 in two days, and she only walks while holding my fingers or furniture. She will squat and pick things up, sit down, stand up, but only holding on to something. She also just decided crawling is fun, instead of the commando crawl she was doing! I know she will be walking before I know it!

my son is 1 on the 25 august.....he is not walking yet! He stands up on his own, and walks along furniture etc, but no sign of steps as yet!!! I am not worried, I am sure he will start when he is ready. I just hope he is walking by Feb, as he is a paigeboy!!!!

Mine isnt yet he pulls to stand and turns around while leaning on stuff but I have seen and heard that boys are generally slower than girls.encourage pulling up (we bought a few activity things at a nice consignment sale in our area)try putting some toys up so they will be more encouraged to get them and the only way is to pull to stand and get them :))

some babies dont walk til 17 months, u may find that shes more vocal. my baby is 1 on the 19th and shes walking but she doesnt have as good speech as i have seen in other babies her age, yet i have a friend whos baby girl wasnt walking til 14 months but her speech was well on its way. if you want to encourage it, walkers and bouncers are the best thing to make her legs stronger if not, let her hold on to the edge of ur sofa and she will eventually find her way from standing alone to walking from pieces of furniture to fully walking alone.

Not to worry, I have friends whose baby didn't walk until 18 months and they are doing everything they should be for their age.

Andrew isn't walking yet and today he is a year old.

My daughter has the same birthday as your child and she has been walking since 10 months but i also have a friend whos daughter is 2 weeks older than mine and hasn't taken a step yet. It really does vary so don't worry just sit back and enjoy while you can cause once little one gets going thats it!

My son will be 1 the 25th, started to walk 10 -12 steps when we pull him up and when he felldown he dont stand up, just crawls then. My sister in law's girl is just a month older than my son and se walk since she was 8 months, so every family member would say someting about that. But she didn't crawl. good luck - give her time.

Mine is almost 1 and has been standing alone but not walking yet. I'm sure she will start soon and then you won't be able to stop her!

My daughter will be one next week and is not walking or even close to walking. She will pull up on things but that is about it. She has been slow on all her milestones.

i wouldn't worry, they all do it in their own time,
my eldest walked at 9m so she was really early,
my youngest is 1 on 21st and she is attemptin to walk but still not walking properley and shes been doin this from about 8-9m but still not ready to take off lol.
they give them upto 18m b4 they look into probs with walking so their is plenty of time, i fink they say average age for walking in 12-13m.
my friends little girl is 14m and still not attemting to walk, they are all sooo different.

My daughter is on the brink of walking. She can take one or two steps and then fall down.

I wouldn't worry much. Some babies walk sooner then others. Just give her some time. I'm sure she'll be pro in no time. If your really worried talk to your doctor.
