I took my 4mnth old to the ortho specialist yest. and he has got what i understand to be the opposite of club foot ( his feet look absolutly normal) but they point out more so the right the most but they told me that he would have to sleep in a brace thats basically like a snowboard and if that did not work move to something else.....Im so concerned for my baby I hate that he has to go through this and i feel like its my fault! They also told me that when he start walking they may put him in a different brace to wear daily.....which informs me that they are not having this corrected any time soon...My question is that Has anyone ever had to deal with this? I really need someone to talk to.

Hi Jessica. I had twin girls born August 31st. The were both breech and the lower twin had her feet bent because it was so crowded during those last months of gestation. We knew immediately that she would have to see a ortho peds doctor. She was put in casts when she was just four weeks old and then moved to the special shoes with a brace (looks like a snowboard) at 6 weeks old. She wore those braces 23 hours a day (only off during baths and when in car seat) until this week. She will now wear the brace at night (or at least 10 hours a day) until she's probably 2 years old. I felt really bad that she had to go through all this but I don't think she even notices. She's happy and healthy and rolling over before her twin sister. :) I've also had tons of people tell me that they had kids go through this or went through it themselves. It's so nice to get it fixed now because they won't even remember it when they're older. Let me know if you have any other questions. I can also send you some photos of her with her brace on. It's really not bad. One tip though: buy open feet outfits that snap at the crotch so that you can change diapers without removing the brace or sleep sacks work great at night because the brace fits inside. :)
