7 month old whining/crying in her sleep suddenly a few times a night.

my 7 month old daughter started crying in her sleep 3-4 times a night, shes not awake but is whining and crying a bit...shes been doing it for almost a week now. im not sure if its just her teething, ive tried giving her oragel and tylenol before bed but it didnt work..shes not hungry or needing changed, i rock her and she goes back to sleep but as soon as i lay her down she starts to cry again, which is weird bc she never usually wants to be rocked..shes a self soother....so any ideas on whats wrong?

She might be going through a growth spurt which can disrupt their sleep. You should read the book The Wonder Years. It talks about each week of development and when to expect night wakings and growth spurts. Here is a good link that breifly explains it. It's called Sleep Regression.

same here! my son is 7 months and he wakes up winning and crying. i pick him up and try to nurse him, but he usually refuses. i think it is his teething and sometimes i think he might have nightmares! i dont know! my doctor also said if you put him in the crib before he is asleep he should wake up crying. if you rock him to fall asleep and then put him in his crib, he will get scared when he wakes up and not know how he got there!

yup same here with my twins to stgart with it was just one of them and i believed it was just teething wich turned out to be the case as her top teeth have just cut through and after that has stopped now her sister is doing the same thing and her teeth havnt quite come through just yet...i usually just gave them a pat on the back as a bit of reasurance and they tend to go back to sleep
if you think about it when us adults have a tooth ache it makes it rather hard to sleep right through the night..i know u had mny sleepless nights with my wisdom teeth
hopefully your daughter gets her teeth soon

Same here...it's almost like my daughter just wants to be held, even though she is still asleep. She also kind of toss and turns. Her doctor suggested putting her into a bigger bed (which she did with her son and it did the trick), she said it gives them more comfort and room. We are gonna try converting her bed this weekend to a ful size with the bars around it and see if that works.

I wish I knew! My 7 month old is the same way and I can't figure it out. We let her cry it out but she is still waking up 3 times at night. Let me know if you get any suggestions.
