hi guys, i was wondering if anybody else has experienced this. my son started to shake his head from side to side (no) a couple of days ago. he does it mainly when he is tired for a few times. i was wondering if it is something new he has discovered and doing it or what?
thank you

My daughter has done this since she was about 5mths old.. she does it all the time- We make a joke out of it and ask her questions like 'Are you a naughty girl?' Everyone thinks it is so cute!! She gets into the cupboards and i tell her no thats naughty and she stops and turns and looks at me, shakes her head and smiles. She is too cheeky =)

My youngest is just seven months old and he started shaking his head no at 6 months when he was eating and we tried to spoon feed him - come to find out he was letting us know he was done eating...

My daughter, 7 months today, has been doing this for months now. I thought she copied it from me. Since she was little, whenever she started to cry I lovingly told her no while shaking my head. One day, she started shaking her head too and smiling back at me... nowadays she laughs whenever she does it. I think its cute. I also used to rub my nose against hers and whenever I get so close to her face nowadays, she rubs her nose against mine... I don't think you should worry about it, in a few days your son could have moved off to something else :-)

My daughter did it when she was about that age. My son just started doing it recently. He's about 7 months, my daughter is now 2 1/2 and is just fine. If you are concerned just keep an eye on him and talk to your doctor.

Weston started doing this a few days ago when throwing a temper tantrum (because he was tired and didnt want to let him self sleep) I freaked out at first but after seeing him do it a few times, i now know that its his "sleepy routine" .. Rub eyes, Shake head, Pull ears... sleep... hehe

my son does it too.. he mainly does it when he is tired though.. either in bed or carseat if we're out .. he does ocassionally do it sporatically as well.. i too, like you was concerned when i saw it.. and still sometimes if i dont think he's tired, but i guess its something some kids do?

My daughter does this too sometimes. She thinks it's very funny when I or her big sister copies her. Usually does it more in the evening when bed time is approaching so maybe just a sign of tiredness.

My son started about a week ago too, but he does it when he is playing. He thinks it's funny to get us to copy him.

My son has been doing the same thing! Mostly when he is sleepy and is fighting it. But my daughter did the something. Its just something they learn to do to add to everything else when they don't want to go to sleep. lol
