yes it could be very soon, out of my 6 kids , my 1st 3 kids walked at 11 months and my 4th at 12 months and my 5th walked really well at 9 months , but my baby now is 13 months and he is doing everything besides walking on his own

my boy was walking at 7 months, but he was DETERMINED. He wouldn't even sit down in the sink for his baths! My daughter didn't walk until a few months after her first birthday, and only when she wanted to 'chase' the other kids who were running laps around her while she crawled. If you encourage it, he'll get there :)

This is the group is for babies born August 2009. They're now around 26-27 months old and should be walking and if they are not they should be checked with their ped. for developmental issues. Elvira, do you have the right forum?

When my son was 11 months old he could walk around stuff and stand good, and pick up stuff. Then 2 weeks before his 1 year birthday he took off. He is 13 months now and is running, I mean running FAST!!

Bayley started walking at about 10 1/2 months and the only time she crawls now is when she wants to get somewhere fast.

Mine started waliking when he was 10months and 3weeks about, it to him so long to crawl couldn't believe he started walking so early! It's so cute when they start walking!

hi my son is 11 and a half months and started walking today!!! yahhhh!! almost cried. sounds like urs wont be long!! altho he cant swoop down to pick stuff up like urs, anyday now!

OMG it was the most amazing thing to see, at least i thought. Lilith took her first 15 steps today without falling down and I had my camera phone ready in hand!!!!!!! I truly believe walking is after they take 3 steps....

My daughter is walking pretty well. Much earlier than my son. I was shocked she was standing at 7 months then her leg got broke but soon as that cast came off a few weeks later she took off on her own.

my daughter was walking almost fully by 10 months . if he has taken a couple steps then fell down then he is very close thats how it happen with my daughter. one step fall then she found her balance and now its fun. she is trying to run. it comes quick lol brace urself

my son can walk really well. he can pick up toys, turn directions while walking. he has the walking thing down pat. hes even trying to run while walking.

My little guy turned 11 months on July 22nd and he isn't walking yet. He will take about 3 steps by himself but I think he does it to amuse me because I go wild with praise when he does. But he loves to crawl. He can climb anywhere though. I don't think walking will be any harder than crawling. He literally goes just as fast as the kids who are walking, and he can get into everything. He's been standing/pulling himself up since 7 months so he's had a lot of practice at this stage, but I think walking is right around the corner.

He is close ! My daughter was doing the same, except she was falling over when bending to pick something up. She usually grabs onto our couch cover though on the other arm so she found a way around it..But she started about two weeks ago- she really let herself go. Now she walks everywhere...From what I see, longer and longer distances all on her own. I tried to help her gain confidence in allowing herself to let go by holding one hand while she walked; maybe you can try that with your son ? Hope that helps and don't worry !! I thought my daughter was behind but they're right on time ! :)

Desi has been taking steps (1-3) for about 3 weeks or so and today, walked across the room at the library! He's 11 months and 3 days.

Yes, well kinda. He takes 8-10steps, falls and then gets back up and does another 8-10 steps. Unless he is in a hurry and then he will just crawl.

my Jazz took her first walk ( more than 2-3 steps) on Cinco de Mayo she just turned 8 mos now at 11mos she's everywhere and climbing anywhere she can!

My son started to take steps when he was around 9 months and officially started walking at 10. Today he walks around all the time and never seems to get tired. Don't you just love seeing how they try to walk? It's the cutest!!

Yes my son started walking one week before he was 10 months. I wasn't quit ready but am now. Had to put cabinet locks on everything. Now he is 11 months and wants to climb on things.

My son will be 1 on the 2nd aug and still not walking he can crawl, cruise fine also can climb very well but not walking as of yet, i can tell he has thought about it but he keeps going onto the floor and crawling to wherever he goes instead. I have tried to encourage him but no luck so far but i am leaving it to him im not pushing him so when he is ready he will walk

My son was doing the same thing....well not scooping down to pick toys up but standing on his own then all of a suuden he took one step and fell now hes been walking more and more every day if not running because hes so exciting that hes walking it's close and theres no turning back!!!

My daughter has been walking since she was 8 months. She is running now. Olivia didn't cruise furniture. She would hold on to me as I walked around the house... When she took her first steps it was like her first 8 steps

My son is 11 months and is walking now. He started walking diagonal in his pack in play with out holding at 10 months. Decided to test him and put him on the regular floor and let him stand and he started talking a few steps. Now he is all over the place and into everything. Walking is a exciting moment. My first son did not start walking until his 1st birthday so to see my 2nd on walking at 10 months shocked me.

My son has been walking since about 8 1/2 months. He was cruising around the furniture at 6 months and then started 2 or 3 steps to cross from one thing to the next at about 8 1/2. We think he stopped so he could learn to crawl first.

Now he is climbing up on the furniture and running around chasing his older sister. Lots of fun but there are times when I wish he was a bit less mobile. lol!

My oldest daughter started walking at 8 months!!!. My 11 month daughter hasnt started walking yet and she is doing the same thing as your son...Some babies take a little longer than others. Your son will be walking very soon. But when he does it wont be one step, it will be several steps:)
