Any aug 2009 babies off the bottle?

Izzy hasn't been officially off the bottle since Tuesday this week. So happy and bottles are all gone. She loves her cows milk and her sippy cup.

MY daughter is still on bottles, I have been trying since she was 6 months to offer the sippy cup at meals and have it out with her toys. She just hates her cup, i have tried 3 different kinds. Shes got 6 teeth.. When the time is right will she just take the sippy cup on her own? Suggestions.. of a sippy cup to try if you have been in my situation! Thanks :D

my daught is 10 months old she has 7 teeth and i started sippy cup training at 6 months she stll will take her bottle if i give it her but she drinks out of all sippy cups or even straws if yoy give them to her. which is prob due to the fact that i started her at 6 months. i have a friend who has a 2 yr old that refuses the sippy cup only wants a bottle so be grateful the doctor is going to take her off bottle at 1 any way

Ny oldest did this and she was done with the bottle. I just got all the bottles and put them up and just gave her cups. I wish my second child would do the same but she will be over one before she'll give it up. I'm sure.

My son is 10 months almost 11 and has been on a sippy cup since he was 5 months old he loves it and still gets the formula and everything. bottles sometimes hurt more than sippy cups when teething so it may be why shes swating but if she likes the sippy id let her keep it cuz later on just means you wont have to worry about the switch to a sippy lol Good luck

Good to hear my little one isn't the only one pushing away the bottle. She's been taking less and less formula for a couple weeks now and I wondered if it was a little early to start whole milk. But she really wants that sippy and her finger foods. This girl loves to eat!

my daughter was the same she refuses ant drink from her bottle! she has been like it for a few months now, but she has milk in her breakfasts and yoghurts and things like that, so she has plenty, and she is completely off of her milk aswell as she not only refused the bottle but her milk too but is fine so we dont have to worry about it.

my daugther who was born in august 2009 has been off the bottle for three months now she does just fine with a sippy cup she loves the munckin cups only one she will take shes not cuttin the normal teeth pattern all hers on botton r wantin to cut threw she has none on top yet

My baby drinks his milk in his bottle and water and juices in his sippy cup, i never really tried giving him milk in his sippy cup and am not planning to at the moment, i just love holding him while he drinks ♥ can't get enough of him ♥

take it as a blessing as some mums have a hard time trying to get their babies off the bottle and also its better for their teeth to drink out of a cup as bottle drinking especailly at night can promote tooth decay.

If she's drinking out sippy what's the problem? My son has been on sippy cup every since around 5 to 6mths. He stopped sucking bottle due to me trying to trick him with formula. :) BABIES SMATER THAN WE THINK. So now I pump rarely but we mostly latch. He's gaining without bottle sure she will too so stop worring:)

My daughters 10 1/2 months and we took all her bottles away 2 weeks ago. She fussed for a couple of days and now she's fine! She does keep saying baba though!

the fact that your daughter weaned herself from the bottle is an awesome thing. embrace it. my pediatrician persuaded me to introduce the sippy at 6 months. my daughter adjusted well, put clinges to her pacifier. fyi, those soothies are addictive. lol any help with that?

My son will be 10 months old on Saterday. He is cutting a lower and upper tooth at the same time. He is not wanting much to do with his bottle in the am and won't take the formula out of a sippy. He wants water in the sippy. He is so independent compared to my first child.

hi we are back and forth with my son although he is growing very fond of the sippy cups he smacks your hands away when you try to help him hold the cup. A little independence yea!!!

hi my daughter is the same age and shes refused milk since 8 monthes, shes loves her food too much, hv said to just offer her cows milk and dairy products, shes healthy and gaining weight so doesnt seem to have been a problem.

We transitioned our 10 month old daughter to the straw cups and it has worked great! She will drink her milk or water just fine out of them!

My son never has taken a bottle, he started using a sippy when he was 6 months and loves it, he gets his fill of milk nursing 3 times a day (he won't nurse any more than that) and he gets 4 oz expressed milk in a sippy cup with every solid meal and he's doing great. I don't mind him refusing a bottle, they shouldn't have it past 1 year anyway so I just figure it has made any worries about weaning pretty much non-existant!

My son is 10 months old and loves drinking out of his sippy cup. We started introducing it early so that he got used to it now it reached for it instead of the bottle.

After two days on just a sippy I packed up the bottles. I don't necessarily think its a bad thing. Much easier for both of us come 1 year. I guess I just miss her babiness now that she is becoming more indipendent

My son is 10 months old today and has been drinking out of only a sippy cup .... no bottle at all for all most 2 months now. His Dr. said as long as he is drinking 24 oz a day that was fine and to be glad that he is off the bottle because for some babies the bottle is hard to take away.

Im not really sure why you think this is a bad thing. You should be thrilled at the fact that you dont have to fight for your wee one to start on a sippy cup. My daughter is 9 months and ive been slowly taking her off and introducing the sippy cup. She has done well but I only wish she wanted the sippy cup all the time. Accept it. Your baby is growing up.

Most doctors would say they are supposed to be off the bottle by their first birthday,so I would say that is really good that she refuses a bottle.I have tried about 6 different kinds of cups before I found one that Mya would drink out of. For a while she would only take a few sips from her cup then throw it and cry. Then I started to offer her a cup at every meal and snack, after trying to get her to drink out of it,if she refused then I would give her a bottle. She also has 8 teeth and chews on everything,including her cup..Her doctor recommended that I put her formula in it,not just juice and water,something that she likes more. Once I put formula in it she started drinking from her cup much better. She is now 10 1/2 months and hasn't had a bottle in about a month.

This makes me feel a little better! My daughter just turned 10 months and wants nothing to do with it except to chew on it. However, I still wish that she would drink out of it but I guess I will just have to keep trying. Any advice on how to do it? Also, she doesnt like to eat really. She never had. Even when she was younger she would not eat baby food, she likes solid food however she doesnt eat very much of it all maybe a couple bites here and there. The doctor said I shouldnt be worried but still any tips on how to get her to eat more?

My son will be 11 months on the 5th and is completely off the bottle. He only likes one kind as far as sippy cups go but he drinks his milk and water out of cups now. He has 4 top teeth and 2 bottom and is getting 2 more to the bottom.

my son stoppped taking a bottle at 8 months...and just now started refusing formula period. So now he just takes cow's milk out of a sippy cup and he does just fine.

my son is 10 months now and has stop bottle completely,he's now on a sippy cup,he has refuse to take his formula but i do mix it with his other food.he has four teeth now,2 up and 2 at the bottom and he's doing just fine

Isnt that a good thing that she wont take a bottle!
My son has his water lunch and tea time from his cup and I have started putting a couple of ounces of milk in his cup from his morning feed. He takes a few sips but really enjoys his bottle. He then has his night milk from a bottle to. I think tomorrow now Im just going to give the full 6oz in the morning from his cup and the bottle in the night

my baby will be 10 months on wednesday and he still drinks from his bottle...I have not yet introduced a sippy cup, but I plan to in the near future...also, he has 3 new teeth cutting in the top and he has 2 full ones on the bottom

When my daughter turned 9 months old she wouldn't drink her bottle she would spit it out so i gave sippy cup and she only likes the nuby ones that r soft and shes 10 month and 1 week now and that's all she will take.

My daughter was completely off the bottle at 9months, but my son is now 10months and still takes a bottle. She never took a bottle to sleep though and he does so it will be harder to get him off of it im afraid... But my daughter stopped on her own she loved a sippy much better.

My son will be 10 months tomorrow...still gets 4 to 5 botttles a day. We are working on the sippy but he only bites on them and I have tired about 5 different kinds. He is cutting a top tooth and that will be is 8th one so I think that part of the reason for the biting on the sippy. His doctor said that's onces they turn one no more bottle so I'm not that worried. I'm going to keep giving the sippy and after about 30 mins I offer the bottle.

once they reach one you are advised to take them off the bottle so like i did with my 1st son at this age, keep her using the sippy unless she refuses it and prefers a bottle as the bottle will start to rot their teeth. i was advised by the dentist to do this x

My girl's not swatting the bottle away that I'm aware of, but she only gets a bottle when other people such as daycare or the church nursery are watching her. At home she drinks from a sippy cup and this week I've introduced a regular child's cup to her for dinner.

My daughter, now 10 months and almost one week, gets a bottle at morning nap, afternoon nap, and bedtime.

As far as sippy cups go, she refused them from the get go. But, with time and a little bit of a mix-up, we found that she loves drinks with straws in them. Go figure. That's supposed to be the step after sippy cups, I think. At any rate, that's the only thing she'll drink out of by herself.

My son will be 10 months on Monday.. He is also cutting four teeth on top ( poor thing) He is still on the bottle he gets about 4 bottles a day 2 of them 6oz and the other 2 are 4oz ( on average)
I have introduced the sippy cup but only with juice and water. i was told to only intorduced the sippy with something other than formula.. All he does is bite the top sometimes he will drink maybe an ounce of water/juice from it. anyway am i suppose to be trying the sippy with formula? i feel like i'm a little behind from reading everyone eles...

Lilyan has never had a bottle. She has been nursed since birth and when she gets formula for any reason or juice its from a sippy cup or a straw...she loves the cups. She is also cutting all 4 top teeth too.

My daughter hasnt been on a bottle in months. The doctor told me the easiest time to switch to a sippy was between 7 and 9 months and she took right up to it so we quit with the bottles then. I seen most of you are worried about the sippy. Talk to your doctor about it. Mine said it was fine if she was still taking a bottle ( some kids wont give it up before a year old) just make sure you introduce it to them. Put something like juice or water in it and let them play with it. If theyre comfortable with it the easier it will be for them to use it .

We started the sippy at 5 months so im sure that helped. I also always held on to the bottle, it was mommys not hers. She only got to hold the sippy.

My daughter won't touch a sippy cup. She won't drink anything other than the bottle. How do I stop this?? Could the fact that she was 9 weeks early be any kind of factor??

Wow! I feel sooo lost! I have only tried a sippy cup once or twice! I had NO idea he should already be on it! :( Ok...kicking it into over gear now! He will get it! He's 10 months and 5 days... he will be on it 100% (crossing fingers) by the time he's 11 months. And about the pacifer I am letting him have it only at bedtimes now, this is going very well!! I want him to not even what it by the age of 1! :)

My daughter only gets one bottle a day and by the end of this month she will be completely of the bottle. I only give her one right before bed because it helps her relax but she would probably be ok without that one to but i think i would miss holding her while she takes it and she kinda dozes on me it so sweet. maybe she will do the same thing with sippy but we will see next month.
