Anyone started potty training yet? How's that going?

Gianna goes in the bathroom w/ her sister and I and sits on her potty. She does not really give signs that she has to go but she does tells us that she has gone. With my 6 year old, we tried desperately to potty train her. Bought DVD's, bought a potty, books, etc. Even Great grandma who was her sitter when the hubs and I were at work still could not get her to do it. At about 3.5 years, she walked into the bathroom and got on the toilet and did it herself. We were so shocked! I am thinking of trying to start panty hours before her nap and before bedtime. We'll see how that goes...

I started potty training my son at 17mos old....he is now 19mos old....he use it right away..he wont tell me if he have to go...but when he boo boo; he tells me....but it's getting better everyday!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!!

we potty trained a couple months ago. it has had its ups and downs but Im very happy with doing it early. She is my second so it took a little longer than my first and weer still working on nights but day time potty trained 100% as of about a month ago.

i agree, i think you should go ahead and get a potty even if its just to get her familiar with it. my son will 2 in august and ive had his potty in the bathroom for a couple months just to get him use to it being there and realizing what it is for, and he has made about ten successful potties.no number 2's yet though. im not really pushing it yet just trying a little here and there. I think we will crackdown on it after his birthday.

I would get the potty now .. my little one will be 2 in august ..i have had the potty out for the last couple of weeks .. just to get her used to it .. she knows it's for wee wee or poopoo .. it's mainly just to get her used to it .. initially she's sat on it dressed .. then undressed ..and we have had 1 successful wee .. not expecting anymore progress it's just getting her ready and familiar with it ... she's very clever and tells me when she has done something, .. it's getting them to tell you before they do it is the challenge :) ..good luck

My daughter is 22 months and is 7/8 the way potty trained. She never cared if her diaper was dirty and never fussed about it. She will tell me if she just wants to put on a diaper and not bother with going to the bathroom every time she has to pee. I started potty training her at 16 months. She tells me if she has to go to the bathroom or she just hold onto her crotch and waddles toward the bathroom. It was really easy to potty train her. I rewarded her with flushing the toilet and saying either "bye bye poopoo" or "bye bye peepee" and giving her excited feed back and praise. She really enjoyed that. Her speech wasnt very developed when we started potty training so I made a hand signal for her to show me when she had to go to the bathroom. It worked like a charm. Good luck!
