They can have yogurt and cheese because the bacteria they put in it to ferment it breaks down the lactose. Milk as a liquid should be avoided until 1 because it contains too much fat, sodium and other minerals that can be hard on baby's kidneys.

i have been told by my health visitor that it is okay for it to be in food from 6 months old as in make their cereal with it (porridge etc), have yoghurt's and cheese and cook with it so if you use it in mash potato etc then that is ok to give that to the babies. but not to give it to them to drink until they are 1. i think this is so they get the correct nutrients from the milk and start building up the tolerances to it. i know i will be giving my son yoghurt's when he gets to 6 months old and with him being able to milk in food we can start to just cook one meal for the family!

Yes wait till a year old! Their digestive systems aren't quite ready till then.

homo milk is introduced between 9 to 12 months of age. This is because infent milk has added supplements that a new born baby can not get from regular milk. Once baby is eating enough of a varity of foods too help meet the Food Guide then milk can be introduced

Sarah is right your babys digestive system is not ready for cows milk it can course many problems, you should slowly START to introduce cows milk at 1 YEAR. they can have baby yogurt but not the stuff we eat.

I wouldn't give your baby cows milk. Its for cow baby's not human baby's. It might constipate them or give them a stomach ache anyways. : ) Hope this helps.

They can't have straight up milk, but milk products are usually okay, as long as they don't have allergies. I forget why, but has something to do with a different protein is in the milk vs. the cheese/yogurt.
