Hey, i was wondering what your child's diet is like. My boy starts with a bottle at 7, then fruit, cereal and formula at 9, then veg and milk at 12, then a snak time formula at 3, dinner at 6 some fruit cereal, yogurt, and then a bottle before bed at 8-ish. I would love to know how you go about it:)

bryan gets up around 8 - 9am in the next hour he gets a bottle at 1pm he takes a nap with a bottle he wakes up at 3-4pm then he gets his fruit; bottle at 6 and a bottle at 8 before getting to bed.
he wont't eat his veg. so i don't force it, i try it every week but no succes so far; cookies also won't work so. sometimes i really don't know what to do, unfortunatly

Devin wakes up at about 630- 7ish, has 7 oz ( every bottle has rice cereal in it, he wont drink without it) , plays for a couple hours, gets his bath, takes a nap about 10 to 11, wakes up eats fruits, a couple hours later drinks 4 to 6 oz , soon after he's down for another nap around 2 or 3, usually sleeps for a couple hours, wakes up has his veggies, plays and waits for daddy to get home and then its real play time lol then has 6 oz bottle if he's hungry then about 7 or 8 then soon after he's off to bed and sleeps all night.

Still exclusively breastfeeding here.. will not start solids until next month as my baby was premature, but I'll probably do what I did with my first child.. no strict "schedule," just adding in solids when we have our regular family meals. Will just do solids once a day for a couple of months. And continuing to nurse on demand. Which is not necessarily the same time every day. We don't really do a schedule.

My 8 and 1/2 month old baby girl, is really tiny but has a big appetite.

She gets up at 9am.
Has a bit of a play and then breakfast at 9.30 (weetabix or porridge with fruit mixed usualy)
10.30 am - bottle of follow on milk 5oz's
Nap abround 11.30ish
Dinner at 1pm .... Anything from sandwhiches, possibly a jar if we are out or homemade food if we are in. + Pudding i.e. fruit... yogurt ...
3pm milk ... 7oz's
4pm nap
5pm tea ... a home made meal. With yogurt for pudding.
6pm .... bath, massage, storytime
7pm ... final bottle of 9oz's ... bed by 8pm :)

She got herself into her routine which i love, i let her decide when she is hungry and feed her accordingly, but luckily she is very settled into this routine. x

my son doesn't have a fixed meal routine.

8am breakfast
10am onwards milk
12pm onwards (generally when i eat) dinner
3pm onwards milk
6pm onwards tea
8.15pm bedtime goodnight milk.

he also occasionally gets a mid morning and mid afternoon snacks but not everyday as he doesnt always want them.

he has been on solid food since he was 3months old so i think he has just slotted into our eating habit early.

my son Sebastian is breastfed when he wakes up around 6:30 - 7am, then I feed him his breakfast (usually fruits or cereal or fruit/yogurt) and then around 11 I'll breastfeed again, lunch around 1pm (meat and veggies), breast milk at 3 and dinner (more fruits) around 6:30 - 7 (after which I bathe and get him ready for bed). if he's hungry in between I give him those little Gerber snack puffs or more breastfeeding.

sounds pretty typical - my son wouldn't eat until he was about 7 1/2 months old - just no interest, apparently a bottle is easier. Prior to that he was taking in 40-50 oz per day, yes 40-50, so we did add some rice cereal to his bottle so he wouldn't be taking as much formula. Now that he's finally eating he's still taking about 36 oz of formula, it amazes me, but he gets up about 7, will have 6 - 8 oz, he goes to daycare from 8am to 5 pm for breakfast she will give him cereal and fruit and for lunch it's usually a veggie and fruit, through out the day he's still taking 3 - 6 to 8 oz bottles for her too, then supper will be chicken, turkey some kind of meat in a jar combo, a veggie and fruit - then before bed another 6-8oz - one good thing about children, they eat when they are hungry and stop when they are full.

Hi there,

My son is 8 1/2 months and his schedual is:

7am wake/bottle

8-8:30am breakfast of fruit porage and a jar

9:30am nap

11:00am bottle

12:00pm lunch usualy mashed banana and a yoghurt then a jar (if still hungry)

1:30pm nap

3-3:30pm bottle

snack in between

5pm dinner of mashed veg with chicken or lamb and a jar

5:30 bath

6pm bottle

6:30 bed

My son has been on this eating and sleeping schedule since he was 3 months old and i starting offering him a bit of rice cereal at 5 months cos he was always hungry, but we have been doing the 3 courses of solid foods at these times since 6-61/2 months, seems to work well, although sometime he wont eat at all other days he eats heaps! they are so hard to work out!! =))
