lol your child is huge compared to mine at that age... she weighed 15 her first birthday... heathy as all get out and advanced for her age so pediatrician didn't care... but as soon as she hit 25th percentile at 18m her new pediatrician freaked out with how small she was... she was in 3rd percentile height so it wasn't that bad my grandma and husband's mom are 5'

My little girl Katie is almost 11 months and at her last checkup in May she was 18 lbs. I would say she might be 19 lbs now. We'll find out next week. Katie was 6 weeks premature.

My little guy will be a yr next month and he is a little on the tiny side as well! I'm not concerned because he is EXTREMELY active and eats all day, thats just how his metabolism is. I give him no meats or breads just fruits, veges, and formula. I would say he's lean but solid and strong! Like I said he's highly active. So unless you're baby is getting sick alot girl, I wouldnt worry about it too much.

I have a little guy as well...and he was born the same day Tyson was...hes about 17 lbs and only in like the 10th percentile..I was so worried when I heard the Dr say this, b/c his older sister was in the 90th percentile. But the Dr explained to me that as long as he is healthy and thriving (which he is) this is nothing to worry about...everyone is different, and everyone grows at their own pace. :)

My son is not quite that small, but yes. He is probably (hopefully 19-20lbs) and he will be a year in a few weeks. There are kids 3-4 months younger than my son that weigh more than him.

The doc has told me that as long as he is eating enough, there is nothing to worry about. My son gets still between 24-38 oz of formula a day (depending on his hunger levels), eats a small breakfast of eggs, fruit, turkey sausage. Then he has lunch consisting of avacado, a protein (chicken, fish, or meat), veggies, and fruit. And dinner usually consists of portions of whatever we are eating.

Was he born small? If so, it can take them a while to catch up.

my little boy is 11 months on the 19th july had him weighed 6 weeks ago he was 19lb 2oz so im guessing he is close to 20lb now which to me is huge as he was 9 weeks premature and only weighed 2lb 12oz docs are very pleased with him and he is super active from the min he wakes up till he goes to bed he is on the 50th percentile which is pretty good!but i jus think as long as they are making all there milestones and eating good and arent losing weight thats what matters x

My son will be 11 months old on the 19th. At his 9 month check up he was very close to 17 pounds. Now, he is close to 19 lbs. He was only 3 lbs 5oz when he was born 8 weeks premature so 19 lbs seems HUGE to me. We have regular check ups at the pediatriac clinic at Georgetown University and his doctor said he could stand to gain a few lbs but then she doesn't like fat babies. lol.

Yes my daughter will be 11 months on the 26th of July and she weigh's about the same as your son, and she eat's a lot. My son is now 3 1/2 years old and he was a small baby as well, his pediatrician, and my husband and I were so worried that at one point he had to have x-rays to make sure he was growing, and he was just fine. He said that some babies are just small, and as long as they're growing either long way's or weight way's they're just fine, and from what I have read about babies being small they've said( they being doctors) some of it has to do with genetics, like were you or your baby's father a small baby. I hope this help's!!!

my daughter is 11.5 months and 16lbs but then again she is only 26.5" tall so she is in the 25-50% range for her height though pediatricians never worried much because she is really active and advanced for her age
he might weigh too little for his height... here is a calculator

My 11 month old will get weighed soon, but was 16lbs when she was 9 1/2 months. the docs are not concerned. They are just going to be petite kids.

My Daughter turned 11mths. on the 13 of July also and she weighs 16lbs. 14oz. she still can wear some clothes from 3-6 but mostly 6-9..My other 3 kids were 20+ by now, but she is hitting all of her milestones, she is just petite that's all. Doc's isn't worried and Iam not either. She was full term over my due date and weighed 6lbs. 8oz. when born so she was little then. I read down and saw you went to doc's and everything is ok..Happy for yeah, I wouldn't worry unless he we sick often..

Yes! Isabella will be 11 months on the 27th and she is 16 lbs, 2 oz. She is breastfed and eats solids like a horse. She crawls, scoots, babbles, sits up, stands and seems to be doing just fine for her age. I'm petite and my husband is small as well. The doctors were considered and pushed me on formula until recently where I think it finally kicked in starting at my husband and I that we are small people!

My 11 month old daughter only weighs 15.4lbs. Her Pediatrician has said she is perfectly healthy and just a small baby. She is hitting all her milestones mostly ahead of time despite being 5 weeks premie. Her corrected age is actually 10 months.

Weight is really just a number if they are healthy and happy !

Yup -- my daughter was 11 months old on the 9th... and she's just now reaching 18 lbs. My oldest, who is now 3, was 15 lbs at one year. I'm 5' tall but not very tiny. My husband is 6'2" and has always been thin/small... with "weight problems" according to his doctor his entire childhood life. He's fine. Some babies just grow faster than others. If he's eating well, and he's healthy, there is nothing to worry about.

My son is 11 months and weighs 17lbs. He is considered small also. He is breastfed. But hes also eating now. He is slowly gaining weight, ounce by ounce, but my other two children are pretty slim. His normal dr. said he was fine, a younger fill in dr. thought he should be on a high calorie diet. I ignored that advice and have continued on with what his normal dr. said. and now he is getting bigger. Some babies are just small and some are really big. They are all different.

my daughter was only 17 pounds at her 9 month check up. She had only gained one pound since her 6 month check up which was weird because she's always been in the 70% up until now. She just hit 18 pounds at 10 months-small in comparison to most other babies her age but I think she's doing fine. She eats a ton and nurses a ton too. I wouldn't worry. I'm short and my husband is 5'8" so I think she's just going to be small.

My daughter will make 11 months on the 24th of July and hopefully weighs about 16 Ibs now. She weighed 15 Ibs 12 oz about 3 weeks ago. She was born 3 wks early and only weighed 5 Ibs 4 oz. She is still only breastfed... has pretty much refused to eat any foods... she nibbles on a few finger foods, cookies (takes about 3-4 bites but is very inconsistent) and takes some juice. Because of her reluctance to eat and her limited weight gain, her Dr now has us enrolled for speech therapy. I wish I had more to say than share my experience :-) but it's a little comforting to know that mine is not a unique experience. Blessings!

My 2nd daughter turned 11 months yesterday & she weighs 16 1/2 # with her clothes on & holding a blanket. My 1st weighed 15 lbs at 1 yr. My 1st nevery ate or drink well & my 2nd eats & drinks lots. My dr had us take our 1st in for all kinds of testing & went to all kinds of specialist (for her 1st 2 years this went on) Finally they said we don't know why she doesn't grow, she is just that way. She is now 5 1/2 years & only weighs 31 lbs, but is a very happy, healthy child. The dr doesn't say anything about my 2nd. Oh both mine were breast & bottle fed, but I do here breast fed babies are smaller sometimes. I am not saying don't do any testing, but I wish my 1st hadn't had to go through what she did.

Was he small when he was born? Our baby is the opposite--really BIG and I have been concerned about that. Our pediatrician told us that they tend to stay in the percentile that they were born in (our son was in the 95th percentile for weight when he was born, so he is still pretty much in that percentile at 10 1/2 months). Our dr. said that it begins to even out once they begin walking and moving more. If your baby was born on the small side, perhaps it will just take him a little longer to catch up. It's worth asking your dr., though. We did the same thing! :)

My daughter is 10 months and just around the 15lb mark ( haven't gotten to weigh her yet this month!). For the longest time the midwife was really concerned about her, but she showed them she was gaining consistantly and since then they haven't been at all worried about her weight, I think as long as you know they are eating enough and they seem to reaching their milestones, and of course that they are active & healthy there is no reason to be too concerned!!

My daughter will be 11 months old on July 20. She is just under 16 pounds, she has been small since the day she was born. As long as she eats well and continues to grow, I am not concerned and neither is her doctor. She was exclusively breastfed for 9 months (she bit me, made me bleed, severe infections. Had to stop due to antibiotics. GRRRR.) and now eats three meals with us, snacks of fruit throughout the day. and one 6 ounce bottle before each of her two naps and bed time. She is doing great. I do not think you have anything to be concerned about if he is eating and growing! But it is always a good thing to check with your doctor if you have any concerns! Good luck and let us know how it goes!

My little girl is 11months and 1 week and is just under 17 pounds. am going to the GP on tuesday and am sure he'll tell me to feed her more :) she is breastfed and is doing fine, if she could she would it whole day long. she just doesn't seem to put on weight... I would like her to put on more weight, but I can't give her anymore to eat that what she gets. she eats 3 meals + snacks in between. as long as your lo continues to put on weight and do new stuff i wouldn't worry! let me know what the doc says. I live in Jordan and here they don't worry at all. The pedetrician just says she is cute and others "petite"...

He is breastfed and he was born 5 weeks early. He never really wanted to eat solids until about last month when he got teeth. He is always behind the curve. I am not worried though. My son will also be 11 months on the 13th of July. so I guess Tyson was born on August 13th too.

as for other foods tyson eats tons of fruit , veggies , meat , yogurt etc. i think he may just be a small kid. his dad is on the short side and only weighs 125 if that. and hes 27.

ohh well i guess we will see what the pediatritian says.

My is just 10 months and although he is long (29") he is thin, he has just recently reached 17 lbs. I talked to his pediatrician at the 9 month check up about it and since my baby is eating well and still breastfeeding he wasn't worried - especially as I am a pretty petite person myself. I just keep feeding my baby as much as he will eat and try to put a lot of protein in his diet (yoghurt, chicken, beans, etc...).

My daughter will be 11 months old on the 12th. I'm not sure what her exact weight is... I think it's around 20 pounds, and she is about a foot long?

Breastfeeding makes a difference in the size of a baby. Formula fed babies tend to be very chubby in comparison from what I've noticed. That doesn't sound like anything to be concerned about in my opinion (so long as *he is breastfed) but what do I know about it really. I'd say that by 11 months, they should be sitting down for 3 good meals a day too. Mine actually eats a lot, it seems. Lots of snacking on crackers and cheerios, watermelon, raspberries, etc. on top of her meals.
