Dry Scalp

We went in for his 6 month appointment a couple days ago, and the doc said that it is seborrhea (which I think is just a fancy word for cradle cap?). I started using Aveeno Baby Soothing Relief cream and his eczema is all but gone!! Now I just have to continue to battle the cradle cap! Thank you all for your suggestions!! Using these tips has at least seemed to make the itching go away. That was the worst part!

and it doesnt make it better i have to do it everyother day or his scalp is horrible!

i tried every thing t gel , head and shoulder diffren soap! and my sons face looked wind burned from all the rash! the only thing that helps was white protrolem jelly. and for his face i use baby aveno first then i put a lil bit of hydrocortizone one but only twice or three times a week cuz its a steroid!

My sons doctor gave us hydrocortizone(sp?) cream for his head as well as the eczema on his face. Its terrible cause i want to look at his face and see my handsome baby but all i see is the rash across his head and the tiny scratches where he either scratches for comfort or cause it itches. Is this wrong?

hey rebecca the other thin you could try is egozite its extremely good its also a oil you put on the scalp for babies, i used it once on my daughter and its gone an never came back i also used dermaveen oatmeal shampoo to wash her after. oh an use a fine comb to brush babies hair to remove all the dry skins on the scalp

eczema is for the rest of their lives but you can control it by always using a cream or lotion and it will change during the season changes too.

Thanks for all the suggestions! It is definately starting to improve, thank goodness. :) Once it goes away, will it stay gone?

use mild soaps only and warm showers to hot will make it worse. two of my kids has eczema one mild and the other severe. petrollium jelly works great aply three times a day on the raw skin and when there is no out break use an oil lotion that is mild none scented. for his head us a tooth brush is soft enough not to scratch his head but hard enough to do the job.

Use a moisturizing shampoo. Pediatrician will tell you to use selson blue. Just don't get it his eyes.. I used Dove and it went away pretty quick

My kid had the exact same problem! I think i have the answer! My doctor said it would go away and it didnt forever! i tried t gel everything! he has ecsema to pretty bad so did i! the answer is... WHITE PETROLEUM JELLY! Just oil his head up and it will soak up its the only thing that ever worked!

When my son had that on his head we put baby oil on it and brushed it off then gave him a bath and put more on and let it sit don't brush it off this time. My son also has eczema we use this johnson and johnson baby rash cream its for diper rashes but works like you wouldn't believe.
