My girl will be 6th months on 16th Feb and still wakes up at night to drink milk. She usually wakes up within 3 hrs and breastfeed her. Please tell me is it normal and how to help avoiding desire for milk in night?

My daughter is 6 months and still wakes up twice a night to eat but then goes straight back to sleep. My pediatrician says it is normal for breastfed babies to nurse like that.

dont worry about it. My son was bresat fed and he used to wake up every three hours for milk night or day. My daughter will also be 6 mths on feb 16 and she is formula fed. She doesnt get up at all. and sleeps thru. Each child is different.

my daughter sleeps 10p-6a then i'll wake her to eat, but she's only been sleeping through the night for about 2 weeks so be patient all kids are different she will come around (and for all my breastfeeding mothers, sleeping through the night all positive, going 8-10 hours without feeding HURTS i make my daughter wake at 6 because I can't handle it any longer than that) good luck!

Yes it is completely normal, and I don't think there's much you can or should do about it. Babies outgrow this need in their own time. Every baby develops differently.

i think this is totally normal! breastfed babies tend to eat the most during nighttime hours. my son nurses almost constantly while we sleep (he'll be 6 months on feb 15). to avoid mother burnout, we co-sleep and he can nurse without either of us having to fully awaken. it Totally safe and i enjoy it as its some of the only cuddle time i get :)
breast milk is still the most important food right now. from what ive read, cereal should only be supplemental to milk - not replace it.
* (breastfed babies eat more frequently bc it digests faster than formula)

My son used to do that but since we started to give him baby cereal he has stopped because he is full. i mean every once in awhile he will get up but thats just because he wants is binky...i mean maybe your baby just isn't full yet.

my LO usually wakes up to eat at least once a night tio nurse. i don't really its a big deal at this point.

my daughter is almost 6 months and still wakes up one time at night for a 5 or 6 oz bottle. She is formula fed
