Hey everyone, I was just wondering... What does everyone think of the MTV show, 16&Pregnant and Teen Mom.... Do you Feel that shows like this glorify or maybe even celebrate teenage pregnancy?? If you watch the show, do you like it?? Can you relate to any of the moms?? I personally think that although some of the problems are relatable, a lot of it is also sad because of how some of the girls are treated or treat those that help.. I myself feel like i resemble Amber the most... What about you?? I'd love to hear some feedback!!

I think the 1st season made it look easier then it really is. This new season (or the 2 episodes I have seen) seem to show how really hard pregnancy and raising a baby can be.
I don't know who would want to go out and gt pregnant after watching those girls fight with their parents and break up with their boyfriends.

I watch the show because I'm a reality show junky. I think it does a good job at showing the realities of a teen mom. Alot of the girls on the show definitely act their age even after having a baby. Most of them still want to go out and party all night, most of them treat their parents like ish when their parents don't want them going to so they can take care of their baby. If you have a grandparent that is willing to take care of your baby as teen and allows you to go out and party then you are very lucky and I personally think the grandparent is stupid. I feel like if you think you are responsible enough to have a baby as a teen then you need to sacrafice and take care of your baby. If someone is trying to help you out or your parents are telling you to stay home and take care of your baby then stay your *** home and take care of your baby. You can have no one and out on the streets, imagine how hard that would be. Alot of the girls annoy me on the show because of that but again they are acting their age. I do commend some of the teen moms like Maci and sometimes Amber as well as one of the girls on the new episodes (dont know their names yet).

I personally like the show. I think it shows the ups and downs of being a mom at any age. It shows how life changes, things are put on the back burner and how its okay because you do it for your child. I do find it interesting how every girl is different on there. I know some parents in their 20s and 30s that lean on their parents like some teen moms. My heart goes out to Catelynn and Tyler because they will be great parents someday and they show so much heartache over their choice and changed my views on parents who do choose to adoption. I would not use the word glorify. I think it is like everything else out there it is going to depend on the teens family, education, and prevention options. I don't think watching that show is going to be the only factor in a girls life. I am not a teen Mom I was married for 6 years and 25 when my son was born. My mother had her first baby at 15. Honestly she never drilled us on the horrors of being a teen mom (that would suggest she had regrets) she always said I hope you are older. : )

In Holly's defense, I think she was saying the show is ridiculous. Not saying all teen moms are ridiculous. Don't take it personally. Obviously not all teen moms are like the ones on the show. However, saying it "doesn't matter if a teenager has a child" isn't entirely accurate either... yes, it does matter, as *most* teens are not yet out of school, are not financially stable, are not mature. Note I said MOST, not all. Doesn't mean they're "bad" or something for having a baby, but I don't think it's fair to say it doesn't matter.

I love the show and i agree alot of the mom's act like they are owed by people to get help as often as they want b.c they are so young but then some of the dads are horrible. I think it shows other teens that it is hard and alot of things change and i think thats what m.t.v is trying to do but there are also going to be those girls that think well if they can do it i can so it just depends. Im not exactly like any of them since i am married and finacially stable and all but i cant relate to some of the problems with men like maci and amber and catelynn. out of all the ones shown on teen mom i think through everything tho maci is by far the best mom! For amber to scream and swear infront of her baby isnt good but she is a good mom to just still young.

I think it is rediculous and definitely glorifying babies having babies.

I can't relate do to the fact I am financially stable, married, house etc. These girls don't have the first clue as to how to take care of themselves; let alone a small precious impressionable child.

personally i love Maci! i think that shes an awesome mom especially being so young i was 22 when i had Karson and i get looked at funny because everyone thinks im like 15. but i love that show! i don't think that if glorifys being a teen mom i lthink that it shows the real stuggles that they go through. i agree that the new girl on the new season needs to be slapped but...hey.

I think that it is showing the bad side of teenage pregnancy which is great! I don't want young girls thinking that jamie spears is a good mom and she made pregnancy look fun...which is making young girls wanna get pregnant. sometimes it just happens, and other times they are trying to get pregnant! i don't really relate to any of them, but i do like to watch! Some of the "mommy hardships" are shown and i feel better that other people feel that it can be hard and it's not just me! I was just wondering what happend to Ebony and the blonde girl that acted like a baby? They were shown in the begining with the rest of the girls..but never shown after they had babies?

Glorify? I don't know. I mean, if you watch the show and think "Hey I want to be just like them!" there's something wrong with you. I think most people watch the show and see how hard it would be to be a teen mom.
