Gripe Water

I'm thinking of using this since my baby HATES being burped...we try to burp him every couple of ounces due to reflux, but he stiffens up and screams so we sometimes only get a little burp and sometimes none at all. He can get a little fussy or spit up quite a lot after...sometimes due to gas. Is it better to give them this in their bottle or wait until after? Do I wait until they are fussy? How much? Do I give it in every bottle?

I'm new to motherhood and just wondering if this would help my LO...and how I use it!!

THANKS

I agree with some mums and yes the od fashioned gripe water does work on some babies but like all babies each one is different. My best friend had her little one at 6 weeks prem an he had the colic really bad like wise my Jake got it very bad at 2 weeks old as a new mum i did try the gripe water but found he didnt like the taste and it allso didnt work for him. I was told so many remedies and things to try so I started with Infants friend which didnt work and then was told try Brauers Colic releif as it is an all natural product i tried this and about 4 hours after giving it to him it started to work brilliantly and u dont have to fuss over trying to get it down there throats you can placed the reccommended dosage for the childs age into there bottle whether it be Milk or water. I now put it into every bottle my boy has and he passes wind like a trooper and burps like no tomorow with little to no fuss at all. There is also another product out that i found works well but it leaves a greasy laquer over the teats of the bottles and its not a natural product its called Infacol wind drops as i said it works but makes ur bottles very greasy looking. Also i have switched to the Advent bottles and these bottles have a slow release teat on them not like the comical cheaper bottles you can buy that all have fast flowing teats and since using the advent bottle Jakes had pretty much no problems with wind anymore.

I have to agree with some of the moms, this stuff is WONDERFUL!!!! My little girl had what my grandmother called collic every night around 7 pm and was fussy like she had a belly ache and was up till sometimes 2 or 3. We tried giving gas meds at every other feeding like the dr said, but it did not work with the night belly ache. A friend told me about Grip Water and we tried it and it worked. I just give it to her as soon as she starts showing the signs, flailing arms and legs, crying, balling up. Within 5 to 20 min's she was better. My little girl will take it in the paci medicine giver thing and she sucks it right down. Good luck!!!!

my lil girl prefers it in her bottle, i did try using it before and after bottles but she wouldnt take it. sometimes i just put it in some water and she takes it that way. its just a question of finding what your baby prefers

Gripe Water is WONDERFUL for babies who have the hiccups alot...they disappear as soon as the stuff is swollowed...My lil Eva is a month and a half and i give her 3/4 of a teaspoon. I dont think its dangerous though, the main thing in it is ginger and fennel but beware, its super sticky so if its runs out of their mouth and into their hair it is gross.

My son drinks Gripe Water without any problems, and he seems to like it, but its only there for when he really needs it. Look on the bottle or the box and it will tell you how much to give your baby if it continues go and see your doctor and ask what to do.

It tells you on the bottle how much to give them. You should give it to them before giving them the bottle. My daughter throws it up every time i give it to her. I'm going to try next time to give it to her in 1 oz of water.
