I wanna get my pre-pregnancy body back...I've lost 25lbs since I had my daughter (she's 8 months old) but I'm still 20lbs more than I was before I got pregnant. I'm having the hardest time trying to get my stomach and love handles toned back again! If anyone has done it, How? and How long did it take you?

hey i got my pre-pergger body back.. weight wise anyway.. \i was 125 when i got preggers went to 158lbs, 6 months after baby i was 115, 8 months after i'm 113lbs.

i breastfed, and i had like 1 month b4 i had to go back to uni, for me i think it was a mixture of bleeding for 4months straight after giving birth, walking to and from uni about 4 times a day (15mins each way) and being a single mother and having to do most of everything on my own...

drink plenty water, eat well, not much junk food, lil or no alco stop when you're full, that might help

Yes!

See How I lost weight.

Both their real-life experience and the latest fitness research suggest that low- to moderate-intensity aerobic exercise, while beneficial, is not the fastest route to leanness and overall health that many people believe it is. The real key to fat loss is high-intensity exercise, especially strength training.

A great product for stretch marks is called Bio Oil. I used this during my pregnancy, but found it harder to use after baby, but still have noticed them lightening and some even disappearing.
I'm in Ontario, Canada and Bio Oil is available at Walmart and Shoppers. Cheaper at Walmart, of course.
Also the Baby Show is at the end of the month and its sold at the show too, at a great deal. Good luck!

I too am still in my maternity Jeans :( My daughter is 8 months old and I stopped losing weight about when she as 3 months old! I know I ate a lot of stuff I shouldnt have so I decided to take out all sweets and eat much healthier. I have lost about 5ish pounds in 4 days. I also breastfeed still. Since I cut down on what I eat I have also started to lose my milk supply. I cant stand being this heavy anymore, I have about 25lbs to lose to get back to before baby weight and I also REFUSE to buy any clothes until I lose that weight. I attribute the 30 lbs I lost right after I had my baby partially to breastfeeding, but since I have maintained for the last 5 months I think it really hasnt been helping to lose the rest. I gained WAY to much while i was pregnant tho :(

I don't know what happened with me, but I gained 23.0 pounds with my daughter, I had her, and 3 days later I was back in all my old clothes (size3-5) I was weighed a week after I had her and had lost 37 pounds!!!!! Is that crazy?? So since then I've been really motivated. I was 142 before I got pregnant..Now I am around 108-109 I work at a DayCare which is really good cuz my baby girl gets to come with every day, but the kids keep me on my toes! I eat healthy, try to cut out all junk food and sweets..I love fresh fruits and celery with ranch has been my ultimate snack! LOL I eat that instead of chips, cookies, crackers, anything I'm "craving" that's bad for me, I just keep telling myself that-It's bad! NO! LOL! So far where I live in Idaho has only had good weather for about a week now, but I try to walk outside as much as I can. Good luck to you!!! You can do it! No matter what way you decide to do it just remember you are a strong beautiful mother no matter what and that's what's important!!!

I have about 15 lbs left to loose. I was 116 before i got pregnant and now im 131-132 or so. Every told me before i was pregnant that I was to skinny so now I might be where i need to be. I havent decided yet. I work out 5 days a week, 30 minutes on the treadmill ( 10 of that with 5 lbs weights) and stomach exercises with a big exercise ball. I have these things in my home. I would love to go back to the the gym but my husband goes to work at 430 every morning and by the time I can go at night I am way to tired and want to go to bed

I'm almost there. I have 5 more pounds. I walk everyday for 1 hour and really watch what I eat. No soda, caffine, watch the fat content and very little alcohol. An occational beer, but that's how I lost mine.

This is my fourth child. But had a 12 year difference between Morgain (child 3) and Bradan (last child).

I only gained 22 lbs. with my daughter. I only had 8 lbs. to lose after my daughter was born and it came off within a few months. My body although is not that same as before pregnancy. My belly is very flabby, and I have been struggling to tighten and tone it. After two kids, I don't think it will ever be the same. I weigh 115 lbs. but am only 5'0 and I do have a lot of fat and saggy skin in my belly area that I can't seem to get rid of. Sometimes I think it takes a long time.

I think breastfeeding has helped me. I was back into my old clothes (except some shirts, haha) when my baby was 6 months. I'm back to my pre-pregnancy weight, but the tummy is definitely not the same! But I'm not able to work out as often as I did before, so I suspect that would help.

I was 175 before I got pregnant (5'9) and before I gave birth I was 220. I lost the first 30lbs in two weeks after birth because it was all water retention from the pre-eclampsia i had. The last 15 have been hard. my daughter is 8 months now. I've struggled with health problems due to side effects of the depo provera birth control shot I got at the end of september and it's made it hard to lose weight. I got gallbladder disease from it and since i finally started controlling those attacks through flushes to get out gallstones and diet to eliminate the foods that contribute to attacks, then the weight started melting off the last couple weeks. I am now only 1 lb away from where I was when I weighed this morning. I tell you it is hard though. You basically have to give up all meat products and all dairy products, an dbecause I also have acid refulx, I had to give up eveything spicey and everything with tomato sauce like pizza and pastas and stuf like that. So I wouldn't reccomend this kind of diet unless you have health problems that FORCE you to eat this way because let me tell you I am STARVING. My body I guess will get used to this new vegan thing in time though.

I am getting there. I would have gotten there faster if I didn't snack so much. Besides being a dance teacher (which doesn't always help, but it doesn't hurt either) I love walking. I make sure that I get my 30-40 minute walk in at least 3x a day. I also try to use different techniques to get my muscles back around my stomach- different kind of sit-ups each day, etc... Good luck. Don't forget, your beautiful baby makes for great weights!

ummm exercise! i gained 38 lbs while i was pregnant, and though i haven't been weighed in a while, i'm pretty sure i'm back to my pre-pregnancy weight. it took some hard work, but it was worth it. i worked out for an hour, hour and a half a day for a couple of months, doing all sorts of things. jillian michaels is great for losing weight and getting toned at the same time. yoga and pilates help too. you just have to keep up with it.

don't worry I still have 8 pounds to lose. I have no time to work out but now that the weather is nicer we take the baby to the track and I jog a bit. Not sure my stomach will ever be flat again. I began pregnancy at 125- spiked up to 163 and can't get lower than 132 these days. blah. it sucks huh!

Still trying!!! I had lost a good bit after I had her, but after returning to work and some holidays the weight started to come back. I still have 30 pounds left and I am hoping I can work harder at losing the weight since I am no longer breast feeding. It definitely is hard work with finding the time to work out and prepare food.

I was unlucky with breastfeeding that my milk stopped within the first month, and the weight loss stopped with it. My problem areas are my breasts and tummy.. My tummy still look like im 4 months pregnant!!! the doc tells me its due to the C section i went through! I dont have time to exercise coz my baby is my 24/7 job, but im still trying to loose that weight! Good luck

It took me about 3 months but with really hard workouts several times a week. Do Crossfit. It's pretty new so there aren't many gyms open yet, but if there is one in your area I highly suggest checking it out! It's a crazy workout but 8 months later I'm 15 pounds lighter than I was before I got pregnant! The first few weeks are filled with pain but it's sooo worth it! Good luck :)

So I have found a website that describes how to do some really good tummy exercises if anyone wants to try them out. ...I started with them tonight. the website is http://www.pregnancy-info.net/topic_othe... ....I already feel it after doing them once. The key is to work your inner ab muscles not the outer ones which I have been working on and haven't seen results. I'm hoping this works cause I know I already eat fairly well for the most part I'm just ready to get my summer body back! I also think I might try that acai berry that is supposed to be a miracle. who knows maybe it really works

I finally got my pre pregnancy body back!! however, it took me until last month to finally get to my pre preg weight which is 115t!! i exclusively breastfeed & stay active (i.e walking or running occasionally on a weekly basis)...the important thing is to stay active & eat healthy! you're allowed to splurge once in awhile :) i eat 5-6 times a day!!

My daughter is 8 months old and I have not lost all the baby weight yet, but I will!! I recently changed my eating habits and started exercising and I have lost 10 pounds in 2 weeks. I have done lots of reading to decide what foods work for me. However, I think the most important thing is your frame of mind. It is really easy to give up but you must always see yourself as successful and never even consider the idea of failing. It is amazing what the power of thought can do. For exercise I recommend Yoga and Bellydancing. The yoga helps tone and strengthen the muscle while relaxing you at the same time. Belly dancing is extremely beneficial for the female body, especially for postpartem exercise. Good Luck!

I was so sick for my 1st trimester and into a bit of the second one that I lost weight. With in the 1st day home I was back into my clothing and with in the 1st week down to where I had lost weight at the beginning of my pregnancy. I don't know how much I weigh now and just have not rally place a big deal on it. I do think Breastfeeding has helped also I am complelty out of shape. Just a long walk puts me out of breath. I am going to be working on getting into better shape here once the busyness of these next few weeks wheres off. We are moving so I have a lot of packing.

My daughter is also 8 months old. I now weigh the same i weighed when i fell pregnant. However my stomach is alot wobblier than it was! I can just about wear my old clothes, but they don't fit quite as good as they used to. I have been doing weight watchers for years, so I just followed the diet again and ive lost a stone to get me back to where i was. Have done excercise too, but not as much as I should have! It really is a case of healthy diet and excercise i'm afraid! I pigged out and ate crap for about the 4 months following the birth then went back on weight watchers in January. Search the web for special postnatal stomach excercises - it's all about working the transverse abdominal muscles, not the usual outer ones that get targeted with stomach crunches. that should help!

I was 141 when I got pregnant, when I gave birth I was 180. The next day I was 160 and then a week later I lost another 10 which put me at 150, I lost 5 more threw excersize, now I just have 5 pounds to go..But they are definitly the hardest, it's going to be really hard to tone! My daughter is almost 7 and a half months.

I gained 35 lbs while pregnant and dropped it all within a month of having the baby. HOWEVER, my weight is totally redistributed. I have a very poochy stomach that didn't used to be there. I definitely do not fit into my pre-pregnancy pants. So while I've lost the weight, my body is not the same. Regardless, what I think helped me drop the weight was definitely breastfeeding. I also did prenatal exercise and pilates all throughout my pregnancy, so I think it helped keep how much I gained down and helped my muscles stay as toned as possible.

For me - I was 162 when I got pregnant - am 5.3. Got up to 199 by delivery. I quickly lost the weight (I am not breastfeeding) by eating better. I find that when I cut out sodas - drink more water and healthier food my stomach looks much better. Also - doing martial arts (kicking mainly) helps get the stomach back too. Lots of various stomach moves - not just sit ups. Hope this helps, I am still not there, but getting better and better.

I was about 175+ when I got pg then gained about 30 pounds and now I'm down to 145. I def. contribute most of it to breasfeeding. Just like Kristin, I want to start toning up more since I lost the weight so fast. I'm also on BP meds which I think in addition to nursing has helped me loose the weight. It took me about 2 months to loose the weight and then about another 2 after that and I had dropped another 30 pounds. This is my 2nd child and they are 7 years apart. So just goes to show the body is a crazy thing. Good luck and you can do it. Just remember it takes time and work out for fun. :D

Ha, I wish! I am breastfeeding but I still haven't lost it all. I was 145lb when I got pregnant (5'9"), gained 35lb and am 153 lbs now. However, clothes don't fit like they used to. I need to start working out but Ethan is not sleeping well so I am extremely exhausted after chasing toddler, carrying baby, working and housework, so working out has so far been on the back burner...I definitely want to get my body back into shape so I feel better, though!

I was 170 (6' tall) when I found out I was pregnant, was 225 when Megan was born in August 09, am now at 179 and still do not fit in my pre-pregnancy jeans and shorts. My shirts I had no problem fitting back into, but I think hip expansion means I will never get back into my size 10s :-) It's worth going up a size for baby though. I have heard it takes 9 months to put it on so give it 9 months to lose it, which means I have 4 1/2 weeks to lose 9 more pounds. I do 20-25 minutes on my Wii Fit every week night, and running around taking care of baby is good exercise also. She did her 1st crawl this past week, so I figure when she gets mobile, I will definately get much more mobile myself to keep up with her :-)

I was 180 when i got pregnant (i'm 5'11") and ended up around 230 at full term. I delivered August 22nd and then by the middle of November i was down to 170. I had not worked out a day and wasn't dieting or anything. I was breastfeeding, but i cannot contribute it all to that.
I found out the first week of January that i had Hashimoto's Disease. Where my thyroid was attacked by my immune system and then was completely destroyed. But right after i delivered it went into hyper-drive and was working so much that it made me lose ALL my weight. But by january when we finally figured out what was going on i was back up to 187. I now have to take thyroid hormone for the rest of my life. I now am around 190 and i am struggling to get down to where i would like to be. I am walking a mile or two everyday now though.

umm..I think it's partly genes. I'm still breastfeeding and I'm convinced those 400-600 calories I burn a day is how I got back down. I also have suffered from "low blood sugar " the past 7 years. I have to eat small "mini meals" all day long or I faint. From what I've read about metabolism..6 small meals is better than 3 large meals. I gained 50 lbs while pregnant...I went from 179 to now about 124 lbs. BUT...not as toned as I'd like to be. I am starting my tone up routine tomorrow!!! Good Luck! YOU CAN DO IT!
