Just wondering if anyone else's august 2009 baby has started to pull up or walk, mine started walking when she was 9 and a 1/2 months and i thought this was early, so i would be interested to hear some feedback from other mums about what their little one is doing :)

His older brother starting walking at 8 months so he's a little behind the loop, but if he wants to take his time I'll be patient. Plus, with all the stuff he manages to get into crawling on all fours and pulling himself up, I'm going to need more time too :)

My wee boy just started to pull up himself, he walks around furniture and started to go on stairs (scarrry!). it's not too early--according to my mother-in-law my husband started walk when he was 9 months :)

Mine started pulling up months ago, crawled for a few weeks, then took her first steps before she hit 10 months. In the past 2 weeks, she has gotten so much better at walking, can get to standing from sitting without holding onto anything, then walk all over our living room. Now we have a whole new world of things to watch out for her to get into :-) I started walking at 7 1/2 months so I guess she is taking after her mommy :-D

My son is exactly the same! He has attempted a few steps and last weekend made an attempt to chase his older cousin, but dropped after the second step. its funny how the smallest things they do can make you so proud of them.

Yes, my August baby started walking at 9 and a 1/2 months as well! His pediatrician said he is starting everything early. It is so weird having him walk into the door of a room instead of crawl through it! (though he still likes crawling lol) :)

My son was born Aug 13 2009 and has been pulling him self up since he was about 6.5 to 7 months old...He still hasn't been crawling and is beginning to walk around our furniture...But all babies learn and do things at their own pace so not much I can say!!

My son he just turned 10 months old and he is really walking. He started to walked along furnitures when he was 6 months.And now he can say lots of words ang knows how to communicate well.

Nyla is 10 Months born on Aug 18th, she hasn't even rolled over once or attempted to crawl she does get into the position but hates being on her belly. She just scutes around on her bum everywhere no attempt at pulling up yet either but the doctor said she is just fine and is working at her own pace. My 4 year old son was walking way before his first birthday .

My little girl took her first steps at 8 months and she is practically running now (10 1/2 months). She won't even crawl anymore. She always seemed ridiculously strong for her age. As happy as I am that she is developing well, I kind of wish she would have been a little slower on starting to crawl and walk. It was so much easier when she would stay in one place. :)

my daughter is 10 months old and has been standing on her own since about 8 months she can walk quite a distance if she takes her time... she is getting braver and braver every day

Daisy took her first steps right around 9 1/2 months. She still prefers crawling as her main method of getting around though. She will take a few steps and then sit down and crawl the rest of the way. She loves her push toys though she will walk them around the house for hours!

Completly agree, Keep them little as long as you can. I feel my son is too young to be walking, he is deffinatly not my baby anymore, but there isnt anything we can do about it!!!!
We never encourged him to crawl, let alone walk, but I guess he was just ready!!

My son is 10 1/2 months ( Aug 3rd- b-day) and he just started crawling 2 weeks ago. My 7 1/2 yr old daughter started walking at 8 months and crawled at almost 5 months. They are all different and do things at different paces. Doesn't mean their is anything wrong with them, they are all their own individuals and like to do things when THEY are ready, not when we want them too. You can't rush things and shouldn't. Yes it is exciting to see your little one reach new mildstones, but they grow so quick and now that I see my almost 8 year old daughter and how much she has grown and how fast that went. I dont rush anything with my son. I enjoy everyday watching him become more confident in himself and I enjoy watching how totally different the two of them are. They grow so fast and when they start walking it is fun and exciting, but man oh man its a lot of work =) so enjoy your little one ladies and don't worry that he or she isn't walking yet. Keep them babies as long as you can :-}

My Son was born aug 10, he took his forst 2 steps right on 9 1/2 mths, and is now comfortably walking EVERYWHERE!!! he very rarely crawls anymore, he is 10 months 13 days today. I have been saying hes walking since 10 months, 6 days. before that the most he would do was 7 -8 steps at a time.
He is still a tad wobbly, and regurarly falls over, but he just stands up again and gets going. He even almost runs....tis very scary, we had to hurry up and really baby proof the house!!!!!

My 10-month old pulls himself up in the crib all the time. He stands there holding onto the rails and walks from one end to the other. He also pulls up on furniture and walks side-to-side. I caught him trying to let go a couple of times to balance himself and he also tries to stand up from the crawling position, but no standing or walking on his own just yet.

Girls generally move alot faster then boys, so most girls walk alot earlier then boys do....my son will be 10 months on wednesday and he is not walking yet but I can tell he wants to really bad....he pulls himself up and walks holding on to the couch and things like that. So I'm sure he will be walking very soon!

We can't turn away for a SECOND, and our boy is up on something! We're packing to move so he's found more than just the TV stand, couches and chairs to stand up on... he was on TOP of my suitcase!
Lately he can pull himself up on the dishwasher, which is surprising as there is nothing to grab onto, he uses his palms like they've got suction cups or something!

my daughter also started walking when she was 9months,but still you have to guide her.sometimes when im holding her hand she refuses, as if she really knows how to walk on her own.we were amazed too because its a little bit early,right?but babies are different now,they evolve and learn fast.

My son started pulling up as soon as he was sitting up at 5-6months, and is now walking from one thing to the other. he will stand in place with perfect balance and can walk but gets very excited and falls :) but my daughter has ear problems causing balance problems so she didnt walk until 14months. They are all different. Ive heard of them walking at 6months also

hey, My little boy is 10 months old and he started pulling himself up on things at about 9 months as well. I thought it was early too especially when i was told that because he was 7 and half weeks premy that he would not develop as fast. I think they were wrong though, cause my son already has about 8 teeth that are comin threw and have come down. Hope all is well with your babies, ladies

My daughter's been standing since 6 or 7 months. We also thought she'd walk before crawling, but she's been crawling for the last couple of months. She's able to stand on her own now and cruise (walk using things to hold onto), but she can't quite walk without help.

my wava has been pulling her self up since 7months, yet it's just been perfected. now that she's on her way to 10 months, balancing her self on her 2 feet has been the issue. ie. leaning on the back of the couch, hand holding as she learns to take steps, hands on the coffee table as she wobbles around. but taking her steps alone, i haven't seen yet and she turns 10 months on the 22nd of this month.

Izabella started crawling about a month ago and a week later she started pulling herself up on everything. She is cruising around furniture and trying to stand up by herself but she hasn't done it yet but i'm sure it is coming soon.

Our son has done everything except for let go and walk on his own. He just won't do it! He'll walk around the house, holding onto stuff, but won't venture very far if he has to let go of the couch, table, my leg, etc. He'll stand on his own for about 10secs and then he sits right down! His older brother started walking at 8mos ( never crawled) and his sister was walking at 9mos. He's 9 1/2mos now. Guess he's taking his sweet time!

yes..my daughter is pulling up furnitures and can also sand oh her own...she's been doing this since she was 7 months and many times before, she sometimes slips her hand where she is holding or she loses her balance and fell off the floor. This made her wary in standing up on her own in the floor. But she''s very good in standing up on our bed or in a foam or somewhere else that is soft and wouldn't get hurt if she falls. though by this time, she can walk when being held or by holding through the furnitures. I get amused watching her because when she's on the floor and standing by the furnitures, when she sits, she goes down very slowly until she can sit on the floor. Unlike when she's in a foam, she slumps every now and then because she knows she won't get hurt. lol :)
I hope she's already walking before her 1st birthday this coming August 8. :))

Yes, my daughter is pulling up and standing, but not walking yet. My 4 year old started walking at 8 and 1/2 months though and my 8 year old started at 10 months.

My little girl was born the end of Aug. 2009, she has been standing and walking around the coffee table and things for a few weeks now. One of my older girls walked at 8 1/2 months old. Kids do things at different rates, my oldest girl walked just after she turned one, and my son at about 11 1/2 months.

My started pulling himself up just before 9 months, and now can cruise along the furniture and walk with his little walker. He is getting more brave everyday, letting go with one of both hands and standing for a second and then falling to his bum. It seems like everything has happened so fast I'm almost positive I will turn around one day and he will be walking.

i really thought my son would be walking by now since hes 10 months he did everything rolled over at a couple weeks crawled by 3 months walked around furniture at 5 months and now he refuses to walk he used to walk with his truck or a diaper box or his walker that he pushes but now he will scrunch his legs up and refuse to do it so im stuck i dont know what to do

Yes my son has been pulling up since he was about 6 months, but he still isn't walking. In the past couple of weeks he has started standing up by himself though, so walking will probably come soon. I think 9 1/2 months is early for walking

My son started crawling about 3 weeks ago. We were for sure that he would walk before he would crawl! He could stand at a table if you put him there. He now can pull himself up to stand on just about anything! He can walk holding on to your hands or furniture. The other day he stood by himself for about 10 seconds and he has transferred furniture items but has not decided to let go for too long yet!
