My daughter has said Mama, Dada, Baba, and Bye. She is 8 months and has been babbling since she was about 6 months.

My little guy has been "talking" to me for months. He looks me right in the face and talks, and i reply, and then he replies back. Just recently has he been making words that actually sound like words. Mama and Nana are his most common. But he is always saying something.

Jup, agree with andrea. Alot of babbling babies... BUT, I think that sometimes when they say mama or dada, they actually know what they are 'talking' about. The same with learning baby signs, once they've mastered one, they kinda use it for everything for a while. My babe was saying mama a week ago for me, milk and her nanny. No she is practicing saying BA. ba ba ba ba the whole day long. Oh and aba. and nya nya nya. Yup... alota babble. :P

Riley is 8 months and she says mama usually when she's very upset lol. Other then that she just babbles stuff.

Isaiah is nine months old and his vocabulary is just dad dad and now nan nan but no mumma yet, I do encourage him to talk trying different words.

Can i say....... 'mamama' dada' 'baba' are just sounds, not words. I'm sorry honey but baby's dont talk until a lot older?? They will make sounds and say the vowels etc... but they are just her practicing using her vocal cords......

My daughter is 8 months old and she says daddadadada and she has said baba and I have heard several different sounds but hard to make out LOL but she has been saying that for about 3 weeks now.

My baby has been mubbling things since he was about 5 months and can say mama and baba or papa ( Which is his grandpa) he does a lots of gaaas and hes even sed bow i think he was trying to coy me saying wow at all the lights at the easter show.

My 8 month old daughter starting saying words at 6 months old. She started with "baba", and then she began saying "up", and then "dada" all before she was 7 months! At 7 months she said, "mama" and now at 8 months she says "baby". I know that she doesn't know the meaning to all these words, but I think it is great that she is able to repeat them! I think you should encourage her to say words. You can show her an object or person and repeat the word over and over to her, or read to her. It's great that she is saying mama! Aidan does lots of babbling speech of course, but he has 4 true words: dada, mama, uh oh, and hi (now often accompanied by a waving.) He is 8.5 months. He also has multiple signs.

My little girl has been saying dada for a few months and these past few weeks has started saying mama. We always say hi Kaya (ky-uh) and she says things like that. and she says hi. She trys to mimick our sounds so if I sing the song from the little mermaid she does too lol

my lil gurl has been sayin dada for the past month or two she jus seems to love sayin dada for sum reason i guess cause she hears it so much but i have been working with her to try an say mama she said it once but she is still stuck on dada

My daghter can say "mama" "dada" and understands what they mean but she babbles "baba" "gaga" and "yaya"...When I talk to her I emphasize on certain things and we are also working on sign language with her as well. We are currently comunicating "all done", "more", "waving hi or bye" and "I love you". She understands when I say "more" "eat" "kitty or Shelby" ....I say to her "there's the KITTY and she says MEOW" or if I'm pointing out to one of her stuffed animals i say what it is and what it says so she can learn that. Whenever I am doing something with her I explain to her what I'm doing and what each thing is so she learns.

dadada googy mamama bababa aaaaaaaa blaaaaa - so a few words to her vocab now. I say object names and colors to my baby. I point people out to my baby too. Like there is Dada and there is Sissy and there is a puppy.

2 days ago my daughter who is 7 months 1 week looked up at my husband and clear as day said "Dada". Now i'm trying to get her to say Mama!

My daughter would say either mama or dada while crying. if she was hungry or tired she would cry mama but if she was mad at me or if i told her no about somethin she would cry and say dada. About 2 months ago she started sayin dada of course it had to be right after my husband left for Afghanistan. She has a photo albumn full of his pictures and she will pick it up and say dada and then have a huge conversation with his pictures. She also has started to say mama and baba over the past month.

our son cadence spit his first word dada when he was 4 months! we just talk to him about everything even though most of it he doesnt understand but babies are really really smart! it is crazy what they can comprehend! we just repeat the words to him and let him watch how we say it because u find them looking at ur lips, Cadence says so far wow, dada,mum,yeah,bumbum,baba,papa hes soo eager to learn its awesome!

she only says mama when she is crying and says dada when she is just yelling and says papaw when she wants food cause thats what both of her grandfathers do when they have her

My son will be 8 months old on the 13th and we bought him the Your Baby Can Read videos almost a month ago and he talks like crazy..Now I am not saying he actually says words but he babbles and yes, of course, I encourage more talking out of him..He actually gets excited when you show interest in his "words." However, he has been saying, "da da da," for a month or so, and has just started saying, "Momma." On the other hand, there are some days when I can not get Kelstin to say anything...lol..He is definitely his own person, lol..But I think it is very very important, Nicole, if you start encouraging your daughter to say more..The Your Baby Can Read says to make it a BIG BIG deal even when they babble because that also encourages certain speech patterns that we use everyday! I hope this helps, and like I said DEFINITELY encourage her speaking! Thanks, and good luck!

my son is 7 months and 3 weeks, he first said da da da da da @ 4 months, by now he says, mamaaa, dadadaaad n bababababa....
