My baby is 3months old. My birthday is coming up and i want to go out 4 a night however he won't take expressed milk through a bottle. He knows the difference and i can't get him to take it. How do i get him used to the bottle?

I am having the same problem. I have tried 10 diff. bottle nipples. I talked to the lactation consultant and they told me to try a soft spout sippy. I went to wal-mart and got feeder set it has a bottle, sippy, and feeding spoon, all in one package. They are 2ounce bottles and have the bottoms that push up. The sippy kida works he atleast chews on it and will swallow the milk. Pretty soon I am giving him the Avent soft spout sippy. It is spill proof so I had been giving him the one that wasn't . Good luck I know I've needed it!!!

You can use a nipple shield which is silicon like the playtex nipples, that may work . I have to use the hield and have never had trouble. My boy has taken breast, bottle, and formula since he was born. Also maybe the baby wont take the bottle from you but from someone else. That happened to a friend of mine.

My daughter would not take a bottle from me when she was still breastfeeding (since then we have switched to a soy formula). My mother has. always been able to feed my daughter a bottle. We chose a Avent bottles because the packaging says they are closer to the shape of a breast. We tried playtex as well. I looked for the wider nipples because it is suppossed to be easier to switch back and forth. After I stopped breastfeeding completely my daughter did start to take bottles from me.

With my daughter, it took going through probably 10 different types of bottles before I found one she would take. Also, try someone else giving it to him. If he can smell the milk on you, he most likely won't take the bottle. Good luck!
