How old was your baby when you shifted him/her in to the cot in their own room?

With my first son he was in our room till he was 8months but always in his own cot my second son was in our room till he was 6months also in his own cot but my third son went straight into his own cot in his own room.

but its up to you when you feel comfortable to have her in her own room, make sure you have a baby monitor if you are feeling uneasy. i have only had a baby monitor this time round so i can hear him when im in the lounge room or if im outside.

We are just starting to put our 4 month old in his crib. He out grew the bassinet.

My daughter is 5 months old and is still in our room for the most part she is in our bed next to me! When she was born she slept in a cradle my father in law made her but she grew out of it at about 3 months. Have been trying the bassinet that is attached to playpin but only sleeps in there for a few hours if any! Not sure what to do. I wont be putting her in her own room for a while though!

My daughter moved to her crib at 1 month. Not because I wanted her to but because she outgrew her bassinet. She is very long. :( She has been doing well with her crib though as long as the music is on when we put her down in it. Sometimes I will read her a story as well.

I've just moved him - but not into his cot, we got given a baby hammock and it's too big for our room. it's going pretty well tho, only been about a week but it's nice not to wake up EVERY time he shifts in his sleep lol

I didn't actually know that, which is why I have asked everyone, have just found my cot matress is too small for my cot so she'll have to stay in our room until I can get in to the city to get a new one for her.

My son was about 2.5 months old when we started putting him into his own bed, however I waited until he was sleeping through the night for a few weeks. We were lucky because he did sleep through the nights pretty good right off. However I have friends that have older kids still sleeping i there parents rooms

do it for sure.... you will be surprised how much better you sleep, they are such noisy little buggers lol... although neither of my 2 ever slept in our room cos we simply didnt have the space for the bassinette... but i would say go for it now before she gets old enough to realise she's not in there and wont sleep in another room!

Joel was around two and a half or three months when he started sleeping in his crib at night. I always wanted to keep him in his bassinet out of convenience, but he was getting too long for it. I was able to slowly shift him by getting him to take naps in his crib during the day. I found he was able to sleep much more soundly in there. So after about a week we tried him in his crib for the night and he slept rather well. But like smoeone said, just be sure to look over the recommended weight, and be sure your little one doesn't turn too much. You don't want them hurt!

We put our baby into the crib at night at 3 months old. He was in the bassinet next to the bed before that. We bought a video monitor to check on him during the night without disturbing him. I've heard of some babies rejecting the crib when you transition them, so I always had him take his naps during the day in the crib so that he could get used to it.

My 5 month old went into her cot at about 3.5 months. Only because she started turning in circles in her sleep and was getting stuck which I didn't feel was safe. I wasn't ready for the move :( I put her cot sheets in our bed for a night and then put them in her cot. This gave her bed the smell of her mummy and daddy and just started her off in there with day sleeps and I stayed very close by for those first naps. It was hard she cried alot, the mattress is a lot firmer in her cot too. But by taking baby steps she got there. We had her successfully sleeping in her own bed for every sleep in less than a week. By the way I love the outfit your daughter is wearing in your picture. My baby has one too. It was a christmas gift from her grandmother !

We had our son in his bassinet until about 2.5 months, but then he just got too big for it. I still wanted him in our room however, so we set up the pack n play to give him more space. He moved to his crib in his own room about a week ago, just after he turned 4 months. We have a video monitor, so I still get to keep an eye on him. :)

From day one my big guy has always been in his room in his own crib. we thoguht it was the best way for him to become used to his room. He was never in our room. Goodl uck!
