My husband and I want to throw our son a birthday party at home with all of our immediate family members. The problem is we both come from big families and our house is kinda small (we would be having at least 16 people over). My son will be the only child there under 13, so we need to host an even that is meant for both him and the adults to enjoy. Does anyone have any ideas of what we can do to make sure everyone is having a good time and getting the chance to spend some time with him without being on top of eachother?

If you have a garden and it is nice you could set the tables up out there and play party games etc Maybe inside you could do a treasure hunt or something like that where the older children can pair up with the younger children and look for the next clue ... it will keep them all busy
