thanx guys... im thinking shoes/boots r better cos his ankles r next to his feet instead of above his feet (ankles roll in), looks shocking! he also weights 12kg already so its alot of weight on his ankle/feet... i might have to go get em checked out by the quack..... p.s all this walking n falling is driving me nuts :)

I also walked at 8 mths and my daughter walks holding on to things now and she is 8 and a half mths. I try to keep shoes on her cuz her feet get cold if she is barefoot and she had no grip in socks :)

My daughter is just over 8 months old and loves walking the furniture. Our pediatrician said to have her in a rubber souled shoes as much as we could while she walks around. He said that it helps with posture, ankle support, and balance. I have heard of other parents that the doc said no shoes. I think that it is going to have to be your decision, but I would let the baby walk if they are trying.

I started walking at 8 months and my daughter is 9 months old and took her first step 4 days ago. She started crawling at 5 and a half months. I saw the pediatrician today and she recommended no shoes (even though there are some cute ones out there lol...definitely no flip-flops etc-her exact words) Some babies just do things earlier than others. For now their feet are flat but their arches will come later. My little one walks on her tippy toes, a lot...very cute. Everyone's opinion will differ.

As we all have different opinions...I believe that a good solid shoe will help then rather then bare feet. Their toes will curl and they will not do a flat foot without shoes on. Plus its good to get them use to the shoes. Now I'm not saying all the time, but it does build up a good posture, and ankle support with shoes on. Plus I have a son and want to build up ankle support for future hockey :)
My son is 8 months and furnature walking because we keep at it ever day. A routine excercise we call it.

If your baby was not ready he wouldn't be trying to walk, my daughter started cruising at 6 and a half months and she is almost 9 months and will be walking any day.

As long as he's bare foot or has socks on then no it isn't bad for his feet. Not too early. DO NOT STOP YOUR CHILD FROM DEVELOPING. My niece started walking at 9 months.
