So basically I stopped taking my birth control about a month and a half ago cause my husband and I weren't having sex. Well of course right after that we had sex 3 times. We were using the pull out method each time except one which he didn't go. Is it possible that I could be pregnant??? I would have thought that I would have started my period about 3 or 4 days ago but haven't yet!!! Do you start tracking days between your period from the first day of your last period or the last day?? Either way the day I started would now be 35 days and the last day would be 28 days. Just need a little advice please.

Oh I should add before I got pregnant I was having my period every 2 weeks (yeah sucked!) but since I've had her I was always on birth control til recently so don't know if that changed or not.

i would take a pregnancy test because it is possible but unlikely. it usually takes awhile for the pill to get out of your system. i was having a period every 1-2 weeks like you and then i suddenly stopped having it. i haven't had a period since early january and have taken 3 pregnancy tests all negative. it could just be you have nothing else left to bleed

Just an update...I took a test yesterday came back negative. Still haven't started yet so I'm gonna wait a few more days and if I still haven't started take another test.

I am using the same method u are...it is very risky! ~ I was freaked out this month bc i was 12 days late on my period < which has never happened to me...at least not that many days ! ~ I was so sure that i was pregnant and was preoccupied bc i am not ready to have another baby right now... i'm already taking care of my lil 8 month old boy and a 5 yr old girl... Handful enough for me. lol ! ~ So i took a couple of pregnancy tests and came out negative ! ~ SO AFTER ALL IT WAS JUST STRESS I GUESS. Whatever the outcome... good luck !

Why did you stop using birth control pills? Was there another reason other than a long spell of no sex? My husband and I tried the withdrawl method for a while, and it worked, but I always got so anxious around the time I was supposed to get my period that I swear it affected me and caused my periods to come late. Stress can do that... delay your period. If your too stressed with the maybe's of withdrawal and don't want to take the pill anymore (I don't do the pill for these reasons: I don't like the sideaffects of so much hormones, and I'm terrible about remembering to take a pill every day.) I like the Nuva Ring. I put it in, leave it for three weeks... take it out for my period, and then put in a new one a week later. The hormone dose is so low that there are hardly ever side affects (and I'm the kind of person to have side affects) and it's so much easier and more convienient that remembering to take a pill everyday. Good luck! I'm glad you'll be happy whatever the outcome! Way to go!

The 'pull out method' is an old wives tale, most males produce pre-ejaculate which obviously happens before the final climax. You count your cycle from the first day of your last period..hope this helps:)

We got married Oct. 2007 and used the pull out method until we just didn't care whether I got pregnant or not before we found out about my daughter. We got pregnant within a month after not trying to stop pregnancy. We found out I was pregnant Nov. 2008. So was able to use that method for a year before deciding it didn't matter anymore. However I've also heard that you can become more fertile after you've had a baby. So don't know, I think I'll wait a few more days and see how things go then take a pregnancy test. I just was hoping to not be pregnant now since my daughter is only 8 1/2 months and would be due right around Christmas. We are planning to go to Canada for Christmas this year and wouldn't be able to go anymore. Of course if I was I would still be happy about having another baby I just didn't wanna start trying until Dec. Guess you just gotta take what life throws at ya!

I believe that the pull out method does work as long as the man pulls out in time. My husband and I have used the method for more than 8 years and it never failed. Both of my pregnancies were planned and I was able to get pregnant very easily. I believe that the only way the pull out method fails is if the man does not pull out fast enough, so it is not always a good method. It always worked for us though, but I have my tubes tied now so no worries here. It is possible to be pregnant though if he didn't pull out soon enough. I have heard of the pre-ejaculation being able to cause pregnancy, but I don't believe it because it never got me pregnant!

Yeah, it is possible. The pull-out method is far from fool-proof. There is a pre-ejaculate that may only be a small amount, but can get you pregnant just the same.
