my son will be 2 on 19th aug and im worried his really small for his age. his in 18/24 mths clothes and the tops are alittle long but trousers are so long i have to fold them up a couple of times. he has only just started talkin in the last couple of months but will only say 1 word. i would say he knows about 15 words but he goes ever so shy in front of people and wont say nothing, but his clever in the way he acts nd if i ask him something he understands what i say. i am only 5 ft and im 27 next month so he prob takes after me. im just so worried as his so small compared to other kids his age.

My daughter will be 2 on the 8th and she's in 18 mo for tops and can still fit into 12 mo pants. I too am only 5ft and her dad is 5'5". So yes he's small for his size but I wouldn't worry as long as he's healthy. As for the talking, I've heard you needn't worry until age 3.

all kids grow differently. As long as he's growing and your pedi isn't worried, then he's fine :)

My little guy will be 2 the end of aug and hes only 22 pounds and 33 inches tall--Hes on the curve eventhough hes on the bottom percentile but at least hes healthy and growing. You also have to take into consideration you and his daddy. Im 5'3 and my husband in 5'4 so I new before he was born that he'd be small, plus he was 2 months preemie besides. Dont worry--your little guy will be just fine. As long as he's eating, gaining weight and growing he's fine. If its that much of a concern, ask your pediatrician what he thinks.

Nooo.... from what I hear he's just perfect. My daughter still ways about 24lbs and will be 2 on the 15th. She's about 34 inches long. So she's super tall and skinny. I wouldn't worry about it one bit. He probably won't get very tall at all. My daughter's vocabulary is very large but she won't say anything infront of anyone she doesn't see on a regular basis.
