My daughter is 7 months old now and I had the same problem. Hailey would take 1-2 15-20min naps a day. She would wake 4-7 times a night. I was exhausted all the time. Then a friend lent me a book called "No Sleep No Cry". Now Hailey takes two 40-60 min naps a day and only wakes once durring the night for a feeding.
This book said naps are important for baby to sleep well at night. Really push the naps, even if they are short naps to start. It also talked about a nap routine and a night time routine. I always had a night routine but thought nothing of a routine for naps. Now when she shows signs of being tired I bring her to her room and hold her with a blanket (her blanket that she sleeps with, I do this at night time two).. There are other great tips and suggestions in this book. It talks about baby sleep patterns, how to track baby routines and much much more. Biggest tip, babies do not sleep better if they are over tired. It is the opposite, babies don't sleep or nap well when over tired. Hope this helps a little

My son is almost 7 months old and he slept through the night for the first 4 months. He would nap very well during the day too. Now in the last month he hardly sleeps at night, waking 4-5 times and acting like he's starving. He also will only sleep for about 30 mins twice a day. I am going crazy as my other son is 19 months old and they keep me very busy. I know it gets better, but I just need it to end!

Aniqua, my baby will ony cat nap as well (2 30-45 min naps in), but he sleeps great at night. The only thing is he can't stay up past 7:00pm! Most nights he's in bed by 6:30pm. I think that's too early, but he tuckers himself out during the day at daycare, especially since he refuses to nap well.

I can't give much advice on the napping situation since I am having my own issues with that, but I think the one most important thing to consider about night sleeping is consistency. You need to establish a routine and stick to it. Your baby might resist it at first, but the more times you do it over and over and over, he'll simply learn this is what he's supposed to do. By constantly changing how you put him to bed or react to his cries, you confuse him more. Have a set way of handling his cries and then stick with it.

My son is nearly 7 months old and only takes power naps during the day but he has a routine at night time of tea bath bottle and then he will sleep from about 7 til 9 and then he will have a rusk and another bottle and usually goes to sleep about 10.30-11 and sleeps til 8 or even 9 am. we found that giving him a rusk b4 bed helps him sleep better as he is fuller he now only wakes up during the night with teething pains

apparently its normal for a while if they are starting to get more active like rolling crawling, they seem to wake to practice this, good luck.

I am no help...I have the same frustration... my son is six and a half months and he takes only 30-45 minute naps and at night he is up at least 3 usually more times... I don't ever pick him up at night I sometimes change his diaper and I always put in his paci...I do know he currently has an ear infection...but he does it even when he doesn't have an ear infections... I am so tired and I wish I could just figure out how to get him to sleep better!

My son is now seven months old and has not slept through the night since he was born, but he also doesn't sleep very well. He takes two 30-45 minute naps during the day and he still wakes up 2 or 3 times a night. His day naps are at the same time everyday and he wakes up at pretty much the same time at night too. Any suggestions on how I can get him to sleep through the night? I thought that since he doesn't sleep much during the day he would sleep through the night but he doesn't. I am getting to the point where I am just going to let him cry himself back to sleep when he wakes up at night but I have tried that twice now and he just keeps getting louder and louder until I pick him up or I feed him.
