Leon is 6 and a half months now and is really great at rolling. But he also does it in his cot and then gets stuck and starts to whine. I have tried a wedge and he just rolls over it....He usually is up for 2 hours now and when he starts to rub his eyes I put him straight in his cot, he then rolls around sometimes for an hour, tired, never really crying, just whining, but eventually gets really tired to the point that he hardly sleeps as his next feed comes up. I am so frustrated, because as the day progresses he is getting more and more tired and grumpy. Sometimes he is in the cot for over an hour awake....I feel guilty, but I read he should get used to being down for a sleep and he seems tired....if he was sleeping through the night I would be fine, but he still wakes twice and sometimes I just need a break to lie down myself. Anyone has a similiar problem or a solution? How many sleeps do your kids have? How long do they stay up?

Thanks
Eva

Eva, with my little one when I want him to take a nap( he usually has 2 a day one at around 10.30am and another around 3 or 4pm) I feed him a bottle in my arms and when he closes his eyes and stops sucking thats when I put him to bed or on his playmat in the loungeroom( the background noise seems to calm him better in the day) and on his side, this seems to work for my little one, but of a night time I feed him a bottle before a bath(7.30pm) then straight after a bath I dress him in long sleeved jammies and another bottle in my arms and he pretty much goes straight to sleep(8.30pm) and wont wake again until 6am, Every baby is different and this works for me. Keep trying, something will give and good luck.

Leon doesn't sleep...he is sometimes in his cot for an hour just babbling or whining, but the moment I take him out he starts to rub his eyes and yawns, when I put him back in his cot: Wide awake and smiles. I am going insane, I have no idea what to do. The last coulpe of days he had 1 hour all day, he is so tired in the evening but still resisits it and then is up 2 to 3 times at night, I have a three year old and besides trying to get Leon to sleep he hardly gets to see me...what could I do??

Ethan wont sleep fpr his naps without cuddling we just sit on the bed with him in my arms for .. like 5minutes till his eyes start to close then i ease him into the crib and he falls the rest of the way asleep.

Did he used to fall asleep like that for naps and isn't? or is it something new?

I found with ethan when starting something new (like putting him down awake at night) that we had to ease into it slowly, like cuddle him till he's completely asleep then 3nights later a little less asleep 3nights later half asleep the fully awake, my ethan does not do well with big changes.

Ethan naps twice during the day one 1.5 nap and one 2.5 or 2hour nap.

Emily does the same thing!! i started to play lullaby music when i put her down in her crib....its the funniest thing she just lays there not moving or anything...after a wail she falls a sleep on her own...i think as long as the baby dont cry and you know there safe just let them...she takes about 3 naps a day for like an hour each...
