my daughter is just about to start crawling and i know its just about time to start finger foods, but i'm so terrified that she'll choke for whatever reason. how do i know she's ready and is there anything i can do to get over this fear? what should she start with first?

we tried mum mums first. my daughter can hold on to them well herself and they melt right away so the risk of choking is less. I also agree with taking a baby CPR class which makes me feel more at ease

i seem to feel more at ease with my daughter eating because i took baby CPR and the Heimlich maneuver for babies. it was helpful, and im not AS paranoid anymore. so sorry if i couldnt help more.

my daughter is so ready for finger food, but i'm kinda stuck to what to give her. if your daughter is better feeding herself try her with some toast 1st, thats wot i have started with. my baby girl keeps bitting in to everything that i give her so i no she's ready. just watch her with everything she eats.

I started my daughter with the gerber graduates puffs, and just broke off little pieces. then after a few weeks I let her feed herself and she does great now and can feed herself all the finger foods without choking. you can also try the biter biscuits. my daughter LOVES them
