Most resources and doctors recommend not giving children milk until they are 1 year old.

All I know is that you are supposed to get your baby off the bottle or breast at 1 year and start regular milk then..I have never heard of breastfeeding until two years old, that just seems a little to much for me, anyway, my son is 9 months old and he was bottle fed and we are breaking him off the bottle for naps..And in about 3 months he will bottle broke completely and drinking regular milk..I hope I have helped..

nutritionists say not before 12 months as they may have allergies or become lactose intolerant.
So try anytime after 12 months :)

start out with small amounts at first...some do not tollerate lactose well...if ur doing after 6 months and before 1 yr...ease them into it...some just completley switch from formula or breast to cows milk....seems kinda harsh to me...im going to slowly introduce my daughter to more milk the closer to her 1st bday. she is almost 9 months now...going to start soon so she gets use to the taste difference

Think there might be a UK / US divide on advice - but the babies are all biologically the same! We are told milk products are fine from 6 months - cheese, yoghurts etc and that it is fine to use cow's milk for example in cooking and in breakfast cereal (however formula and breastmilk are obviously also fine for cooking and cereal too). Cows milk should not be given as baby's main milk drink until after 1 year old simply because it does not contain enough of the nutrients and iron that baby needs. It is not because cows milk is harmful.

My pediatrician told me no cow's milk until age 1- breastmilk or formula or a combination before that. Several books I've read have also said age 1.

Breastfed or Formula fed baby?
I dont know about formula fed children but The World Health Organization reccomends Breastfeeding till children are 2 years old.
As for cows milk on occasion I'm waiting till after he's 1. There are so many studies about when to introduce Cow milk or products so I'm sticking with the conservative one. The lactose is very hard for our digestive tracts and for babies its even worse.
I'd say for fomula I'd stay with that till 1. Hope that helps you with your decision :D
