What kind of rice cereal to buy?

I'm from Australia and also buy Farex, just add milk or water - couldn't be easier. Just bought a new banana/pear flavoured one!

i gave my little one hipp organic rice for the first time yesterday, it says to mix with breast milk or formula , hes 4months 3 weeks old and very big .i reckon you could add milk to the Heinz stuff but id check the ingredients to see if it has milk in it already just so your not over doing it.

i don't put it in the bottle because all the doctors in the uk say that you shouldn't and i want him to learn to eat off a spoon.i think if you were breast feeding the one that you add milk to is better,or for formula use the one that you add just water to that way you aren't making up two lots of stuff.

Gerber is a type of cereal that allows it but all of them should be formulated to allow BM/formula substitution

I'm not sure if its available over in the States but in Australia Farex Baby Rice cereal is one you can use breast milk in (packaged for Heinz) www.forbaby.com.au has some good stuff on it

I just make the rice cereal from scratch. All you do it grind up rice in a food mill or coffee grinder until it is powder. Then cook with formula until it is the right consistency.

What is do is say ur making a 6 oz bottle u know hoe ur suppose to add 3 scoops of formula well I put 2 scoops formula(or breats milk) and 1 scoop ceral and I add water...cause if u add too mils breast milk or too formula it will make them reall gassy...I have two child ren and I did that to both of them...good luck I have a 4 month old too so I know

I buy a rice cereal (Nestle) which you add formula/BM....on the other hand there is one (same product) that stated just water....

My son is 14 weeks and I'm starting him on the Gerber single grain rice cereal to start as a food by itself. I just go ahead and make his bottle and pour some formula in a bowel and mix it with some cereal until the right consistancy. Not too thick or not too watery. Whatever he does not eat of the cereal I give the bottle!

Yes I am reviewing the paper work from my doc right now from my sons 4 mos. visit. It states breast,water or formula. It also mentions that you should use s spoon. Cereal is a new way of feeding, its solids and should not be used in the bottle. Your doc should provide some info for you. Good luck!

I swear by Gerber Single Grain organic or not. You just warm the BM or formula and then add to the dry cereal and stir to the desired consistency.

If you want rice already in the formual Enfamil has a fromula with rice already added and it helps prevent spits up. It is called Enfamil A.R. LIPIL it is in an orangish peach container. It is really thick though if its by its self, so I use his regular formula with it as well. About half and half. Hope this could help you out.

I think the ones that say add water already have milk in hipp organic is one u add milk to, but like others have said u can substitute the water with BM/formula anyway

Yeah you can substitute the water with BM/formula. I've been putting a little Gerber rice cereal in my son's bottle since he was 6 weeks.
