What solid foods are you feeding your baby?

My 10 month old LOVES to feed himself and will no longer let me feed him with a spoon. He loves chunks of cheese, hotdog, and crackers - plus the Gerber snacks at snack time - but I'm running out of ideas for lunch and dinner. Usually my husband and I eat something spicy and my son won't touch it. What solids are your babies eating?

My son loves everything! I make him those pre-cooked chicken breast strips, (i cut them up first) with some mashed potatoes & maybe some kind of veggies. he loves carrots! Just try anything that you would eat without the spice!

My son is 10 months old and he eats crackers, hot dogs, blackberries, pickles, hot wings, ice cream, rice-a-roni, jambalaya, strawberries, meat balls, oreo cookies, eggs, lemon, sandwiches, sweet peas, oranges, peaches, green beans, pork n beans, cake, oatmeal, grits, bread, fish sticks, chicken nuggets, french fries, potatoes, crawfish, shrimp, sausage, watermelon, carrots, bananas. My son eats just about anything I do. I thought most of the spicy and hot foods, he wouldn't like... its surprised me that he did like them. He is a very healthy baby. He doesn't eat these things everyday but I do try to get a little bit of solids in everyday but he also eats 4 jars of baby food a day with 4 scoops of oatmeal in each jar.

I boil carrot chunks and keep them in the fridge. They're soft enough for my tooth-challenged kid. She also LOVES chick peas mashed up, because she can pick them up and feed herself. I've also done Quinoa and chick peas together, and she loves that too. She also likes peas, chunks of boiled apple and pear, bananas, and avocado.

my daughter also wont eat baby food, and wont let me feed her. so i feed her pasta and pancakes and waffles and eggs, and i try and avoid meats and spices because she only has 2 teeth, and the spices i heard werent too good for her. we recently started buying my daughter banquet tv dinners, i know it sounds weird, but they are awesome. theyre 86 cents, and last 2 meals. way cheaper than baby food and she can eat every kinda they have, ribs, meat loaf, turkey, fish sticks, and even the pizza. they make it easy on us and her. :) hope this helped a little.

My 10 month old daughter doesn't want baby food anymore. So, she eats table food. Pasta, meat, cooked veggies, fruit. All cut up small, of course!

My son has a seriously strong gag reflex still, can't even take a soft lump or 2 in his pureed food! His dad was the same, and hardly took any solids until he was 1.5 yrs!

So our son eats loads of different things (what we eat but pureed) :
Sweet and regular potatoes, pasta, rice
Broccoli, cauliflower, courgette, carrots, green beans, baby corn, water chesnuts, onions, mushrooms, avacado, spinach (etc lol)
Apricots, apples, bananas, peaches, plums, berries
Beef, pork, chicken, ham, cheese
Whole milk (in cooking), butter (in cooking), sour cream, yogurt

This is just a small list of what he'll eat! He also eats his baby cereal. I hardly ever feed him jarred baby foods as he's allergic to the preservatives in them and throws it up, although there is ONE, with turkey, pasta, potatoes and lots of veg which, for some reason, gets kept down and he likes it so if hubby and I want salads then baby has that jarred stuff.

Right now my 10-month-old mostly loves cut up fruit. I buy cans of "no sugar added" peaches, pears, mandarin oranges (love those!), pineapple, etc. The other day we had some watermelon and he actually was able to chew off little pieces of mine and he loved it! Aside from that I have given a few pieces of cut up veggies. If you buy canned make sure get get the kind with no added salt. He's actually a big fan of carrots this way. He hates broccoli but I think right now it might just be a texture thing. He makes the cutest little face though whenever I try to sneak some in! Aside from that I have given him grilled cheese cut up real small, cheese crumbles, crackers, cut up ravioli & pasta, rice, ground beef, etc. He also eats all the gerber puffs, lil crunchies, yogurt melts, etc. It's kind of learn as you go. Some textures they may not take to right away but I think its fun trying ... until he starts throwing food on the floor!! Have fun exploring!

I pretty much just feed my daughter whatever we're eating.. just in small pieces. I have never been a short-order cook for my kids and don't plan to be. :) They eat what we eat. For example, for lunch today I made quinoa with veggies. I just spoonfed her from my bowl as the pieces were small anyway (I could have easily just gave her a bowl to feed herself too but I was too lazy to clean up a mess lol).. yesterday I had a chef salad and gave her chunks of meat and cheese. If there's absolutely nothing in the meal she can chew, I do give her gerber puffs or something else that she's capable of chewing.

If your food is too spicy for your son, is there a way you could make a non-spicy smaller version of it for him?

my son usually eats fruit chunks and cheerios for breakfast. for lunch it is whatever they give him at daycare. for dinner he gets either baby jar veggies or chunks of veggies and a bit of chicken chunks. we make the outside spicy but let him try a bit of the inside of the chicken where it isn't so hot. he also loves yogurt, cheesestrings, animal crackers, arrowroot cookies, and wheat puffs for snacks
