Our daughter is going to bed between 10 and 11 every night and is sleeping until 6 or 7 in the morning. Usually will wake up once every other week, but usually sleeps thru the night.

oh dont worry if You kid goes to bed late. as long as You are able to get up in the morning for what ever You need to do on a daily or semi daily basis then You are fine. Everyone's family has dif daily things so it isnt a big thing. when my oldist was 4 months he basicly went to bed at 10 because he was tired and we all got up at ..sadly for me 7 ha but now days he goes to bed at 9(because im trying to set a sced sense he is 3) so well have no heart acheing worry that You are doing Your babe harm. ..

My sonHunter is 5 months old and I just started putting him to bed around 6:30 or 7. He always wanted to stay up late, but would end up throwing a temper tantrum before bed because he was overtired. Babies' biological clock is meant to go to bed early, and putting them to bed earlier might actually mean they sleep in later! Crazy huh? It has been proven right by my son. A good nap at least an hour a day can also help baby sleep longer through the night. I do my bedtime routine with my son and then lay him in his crib and pat him til he goes to sleep. If he cries I go in but wait at least 5 mins each time after calming him down to go in again and pat him. I read this great book called the no cry sleep solution you should really check out. Putting him to bed earlier gives me and my fiance some time with eachother, and I can tell Hunter is much happier and well rested. Hunter still wakes up once a night to eat, but it is 5 times better than before!

I work nights right now so when I'm off work he goes to be with me at about 1130 or midnight, but when he sleeps at my moms house while I'm at work he goes to bed around 10 for her, it's sort of whenever I go to bed he does, too.

My 4 1/2 month old usually goes to bed anywhere between 11 pm -midnight...sometimes not til 1 am. So, I'm not the best example for going to bed early..lol. I've always been a late person myself and preferred the night. I'm also in college and the night seems like the only time I can really get my school work done between daily chores, classes, a new baby, and then working part-time outside the home. So I think a lot of times she see me awake and doesn't want to go to sleep until I do. Luckily, once she does get into a good sleep at night, she sleeps about 8-9 hours.

Bed at 7 or a little earlier. She might wake in the night to nurse once or twice. Early a.m. waking sometimes a little before 5, then she sleeps until 7 a.m. and wakes for the day. If she wakes after 6 a.m., she often begins her day then. Nap by 9 a.m., second nap by noon, maybe a third nap after we pick up my older kids at school, around 4. Bed at 7. Time for myself and my husband! This is right on what Dr. Weisbluth describes for 4-month-olds in his book Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child.

That is how my son is. He takes frequent cat naps during the the 3 or 4, then he goes to bed late like 8 to 11 and then is up at 3, then up at 630 am for the day. It stinks I hate not being able to sleep in...ever! Ugh. When do they sleep through the whole night?

My baby girl is 19 weeks and she goes to bed consistently every night by 7pm. Thank goodness since my husband and I go to bed by 9pm. She wakes up twice - around 12:30 and 4am then gets up around 7am. She takes 3-4 naps a day as well.

My daughter is 4 months old. She hates sleep! She fights it so bad. She may only take one half hour nap the whole day! But for the most part she goes to bed at night between 10:30 and 11. Sometimes she stays up later, sometimes she goes to bed earlier. But for the most part it's between 10:30 and 11,

Quoting Patricia:

Isabella goes down anywhere from 12:00 (early) to 1:30 am. Late I know but as a SAHM, I can let her set her own schedule! I notice if I try to get her down any earlier at this point, she doesn't sleep well. All babies are different as are parenting styles. Do what works for you!

I agree with you, I am also a SAHM but also occasionally do the odd shift at work when her dad is home, and I have also found that the earlier I get her to bed, the worse she sleeps. This is our routine, it seems to work for us well.

We cosleep in a recliner so he will just drift off whenever he feels like it. I usually settle in around 9 or 10pm, he nurses and then snuggles with me. I don't force this kind of thing on a baby. When he is ready he is ready.

all babies thrive on routine and bath feed bed at nights is the best thing to stick to... the bath relaxes them and they know it bed time soon... maecy loves her bath and i struggle to keep her awake after her bottle... but you gotta control how much sleep they have during the day too... macey has 2 x 2 hours sleeps 9-11 and 1-3 and maybe a nap 4:30-5:30...

We do a bath at 7:15 every night feeding then to bed by 8, she sleeps until about 7:30 or 8. I've been very luck as Eva has slept this well since she was 2 1/2 months old. The routine really helps, I think it's the bath!

My daughter has a very nasty scream at 5pm everyday so we tend to put her to bed after that. She was sleeping through till about 6am but that stopped recently and she was waking at 4am and was starving !!!

So we wake her up at 8pm to feed her and that keeps her going throughout the night and we get up between 5.30am - 6am.

We keep her last feed very quiet and dark so she knows its night time.

If your baby is bottle feed and is a good healthy size Australian pediatrician's say its ok to switch their middle of the night feeds to just bottles of water. They tend to wake out of habit, rather than hunger. That will break them of their habit of waking and before you know it they will be sleeping through the night. But only do this if your baby is in a good healthy weight range !

My son typically goes to bed around 7:30 or so, wakes up to eat again around 2am, then up for the day at 6am. This is a good night. Lately (I think due to teething), he has been going down at 7:30, up around 2am (we feed him), up again at 4am (we rock him to sleep), up for day at 5:30am or 6am.

When Blue was about four months old we started doing a regular bedtime. I picked the time based on his last naptime in the evening - instead of keeping it a nap, I turned it into bedtime, based on when he started to get sleepy. It went from 7:30, to 6:30 and has finally settled into a 6pm bedtime. We nurse for about a half hour, and he is usually asleep before 6:30. Utilized the invaluable advice in "Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child". We co-sleep, and he wakes up around 6:30am. Sometimes I can coax him into sleeping in with me until 7:30.

Jack will be 5 months on the 20th, and we're in a pretty good routine. He sleeps about 12 hours (waking up once to eat about 8 hours in). Since we are typically up by 9-9:30 when Dad goes to work, I try to get him down between 9-10pm. Sometimes he gets really cranky after 8pm so I try to entertain him with quiet, soothing activities like looking at books or a warm bath. Then, I nurse him (letting him relax and take him time - not like our daytime meals - at night we just rock in the chair and chill) and put him down. He naps better during the day and is in a better mood in general when he is on a schedule (we're lose about it, we're not regimented and all serious about it, but it is fairly routine).

Have you tried letting her cry it out? We did that with our son and it worked. Don't get me wrong, we didn't let him cry forever and it wasn't easy, but he got the picture after a couple of nights. Now he sleeps through the night.
