Will have a 28 month old and newborn, does anyone else have this age gap or similar?? How did this work for you with feedings, giving your toddler attention, and sleep?!?

My older son is 24 months and my younger son is 5 wks. I'm finding it pretty overwhelming especially since my younger son is colicky. Feels like I'm always going...not sure what sleep is anymore. My older son gets up early in the a.m. so i try to get an early morning feed in for thr baby which gives me some time with my older son. I just try to make the mundane things more fun... baths, breakfast, etc. Sleep? What's that? Lol! There have been a couple rare occasions that the two have them have taken a nap at the same time. But my younger son is colicky and doesn't sleep much at all. So i steal my moments when i can. Still overwhelmed until i figure out what works. So i'll be following some of the suggestions here. Glad to hear i'm not the only one going through this.

We have a 14 month old little girl and a 5 week old little girl...Feedings arent that hard, it's the attention that is the hardest...My 14 month old is jealous and wants all the attention so it gets hard to give them both the same amount of attention

I have a 4yr boy and my girl was born Aug 4, I think it would have been easier if they were a little closer cuz then I could try to get them naping at thesame time and I can nap too, My son doesn't take naps anymore so I don't get to either, makes the night feedings hard to handle. I try to play with my son while new baby naps and include him in her care when he wants so he doesn't feel left out. It's an adjustment but it's falling into place now.

I have a 3 week old son and a 23 months old daughter. For breakfest my husdand gets it ready for me before he goes to work as my son eats at the same time as my daughter in the morning and then for lunch and supper I make my daughters while my son is sleeping and I just give her snacks in between. As for sleep you dont really get any unless you get help from someone. My sister took my my son for the night already so I could sleep through the night and now Im ready for another 3 weeks lol. Dont be scared to ask for help when you need it and believe me you are going to need it

I have a 29 month old, 1 month old, and a ten year old. It's alot of work, but I am trying to get them all on a schedule that will work for everyone. My toddlar loves to help with the baby, by handing me diapers, wipes etc..

My kids are 30 months apart. My son is 4 weeks old and my daughter is 31 months now. It works out great and she is such a big helper with her brother. They even share a bedroom together and it works out really well for the 2 of them :-)

I actually now have a 27 month old and a 1 week old. It hasn't been too difficult with getting help from my husband, but it is rare to get mommy time for the moment.

My first two were 21 months apart. Everything worked out fine, really, and they are now 5 and 7 (almost 6 and 7). They play really well, especially being both girls, and even share some clothes. I really wouldn't have changed my timing. I'm now pregnant with my 3rd and at first, when potentially considering a 4th, I decided it would be best to do about the same timing. After getting through this pregnancy, it's my last. lol I'm just not feeling as young as I used to be. But I loved the girls being 21 months apart.

Yes, I have three children.
I have a son that's five, and a daughter that's four. Our youngest daughter is twenty-four months. We take turns with them giving them all the time they need. While our youngest was a baby, our oldest two might go out with dad for a bit, and then when they come back in they would be with me for a bit, then dad would take the baby for a bit. Then we spent time all together.
I had some moments where my husband wasn't around and I was single with the baby girl and my two oldest kids. I can tell you, your family really does come through for you, too. Mines has been a wonderful help to me with my kids. When you have them alone without dad, or companion it's not at all hard because it's in us to balance out mothering or parenting more than one child. Whether they are close in age or not. Ladies you'll do great, so don't worry. When all else fells pray and you know that you will be fine. God is always there.

My daughter will be 30 months when my son is born. My best friends kids are about 28 months apart and she says it's not so bad and that her daughter is very helpful with her newborn. I am hoping that it's the same for me. But I will do my best to get them eventually on similar schedules, and keep my daughter involved in what I'm doing with the baby so that she doesn't feel left out.

I have a 10 month old daughter, and am due August 20th with our second. They will be 17 months apart. I am nervous that it will be hard to adjust at first but am very excited. We wanted our first two kids to be close in age so they could grow up together and go to school together.
