At what age is it inappropriate for a boy and a girl to share a room?

I have one child who is two and one on the way. My son does not understand yet, what is happening, but he will be aware of changes as we begin preparing for the new baby in August. We never find out gender for our children so this question is a little premature, but I'd like to have everyone's opinion.

Thanks,

thinking ahead...

If they are the same sex then they can share as long as they like. My boys are 15 and 12 and still share a room. My 9 year old daughter shares with my 2.5 year old son, which is not ideal but I guess he can move in with the boys when he's a bit older. The guidelines in UK say children over the age of 10 should not be sharing with a sibling of the opposite sex and no more that a 10 year age gap in same sex siblings.

well if you have aboy that will certainly make things easier. let them share a room until the youngest is about 7 that way the boys can bond in the first years and then give them the choice to have seperate rooms if you move to a house where thats possible

My son will be 2 years 9 months when the baby is born. We only have a two bedroom house and are working towards paying it off and moving up, but I do not know how long that will take.

the first question i need to ask is how old will your son be when the new addition arrives? second of all if its a boy me personally would probably have them in seperate rooms by the time the oldest is any where from 9-12 whenever they start askign and bugging you about how much the sibling is annoyign them lol. if you have a girl and a boy i would probably say and by the way this is my opinion and wild guess.....maybe when the ur son is about 7 give them seperate rooms....if you have twin boys/girls i would probably say around 5.
