if you earn under a certain amount of money centerlink will actually pay for 2 days a week for daycare well not all of it you will have to pay about $16 a day but that is much better than $60 so maybe then your son could go interact with other babies and you could get a part time job maybe. this is what i did but it didnt last long for me because i was way to tired. but i have still kept him in daycare 2 days a week because he really enjoys it and looks forward to it. allot of people think daycare is a bad thing but if you saw my sons face when i tell him its time for daycare he is so exited! i started taking him there when he was 8 months old (only once a week then) and he did just fine. also you may be entitled to some benefits from centerlink or the family benefit thingy... and that would be some extra cash in your pocket! i know exactly how you feel! my partner always spends his money on himself too! and i was reading in a magazine the other day that to be entitled to a family benefit your partner has to earn a reasonable amount of money if your child is like under 3 or something so maybe you should look into it if you realy need some cash... its not much but you could be getting an extra $500 a fortnight to buy those things you need. you may think centerlink is bad and for bums or whatever but its what i had to do im 19 and have a 17month old son and my partner is 22 and he is just way to immature to think about all the things you have to spend money on for a baby ie nappies etc... he is also on apprentice wages for the next 2 years so that doesn't help at all either!

Never even thought of that!!! Thanks heaps Debbie. My partner and I prob have a colection of stuff that we can sell. Where abouts in Canberra do you live? What kind of stuff do you sell? Ive never done it before but im sure its not hard. Thanks.

My name's Debbie, I also live in Canberra. Just wondering if you've ever thought about selling some stuff on E-bay? I've been selling bits and pieces that are floating around at home, then I started buying things in bulk off E-bay to re-sell. Depending on what prices you put on things, you could be on your way to starting your own little business. From home even!!!
