Austin with kids, May or July?

Hi,



Me and my husband dream about visiting Austin. For sightseeing, for the music and also spending some time up in Hill country. Now I wonder if it´s a good idea to go with our five year old twins. Mabe we should waite until they´re older?

We live in Sweden so it´s also quite far away. But we went to Virginia last summer :)



Our first plan was to go in July but then we thought it might be too hot so we are now concidering May instead.



What do you think? Is there enough things to do for kids and how is the weather in May?

May would be better as opposed to July. July is when the really brutal heat starts to set in and the hill country can be far from enjoyable (even if you find shade and water). March thru May are great for outdoor activities. March being the most ideal, but we also have a city-wide festival at that time , "South by Southwest". There is a website, www.kidevents.com, that can tell you about upcoming kid-related activities in Austin and the surrounding counties. Good luck!
