Can you recommend a good day camp for my five year old daughter?

She's very outgoing and loves to run around. I'm pregnant right now and have fallen behind on planning Madison's Summer.

Are you looking for a week or several weeks?
Depending on where you live - in NW Austin, the Anderson Trojan Belles does a great dance camp the last week of July (www.trojanbelles.com) or Dancer's Workshop offers some great dance camps too!

YMCA - I agree! My daughter loves it! Their rate is the best I've seen for the amount of activities, field trips and swimming they do. The other great thing is that they are all over! So many locations to choose from.

Thanks a lot, everybody! Desiree, do you have the phone number for the YMCA camps?

My nieces love the YMCA camps but I am not sure what age they start at! They go swimming at least twice a week and a field trip every week. Last week they went all the way to the Waco Zoo! They never seem bored! It may be worth looking in to.

Hi Erin,
Stepping Stone Schools have an awesome adventure camp with lots of different themes. They are also raising money for charity with different businesses all summer. You can drop in daily or weekly. I am not sure where you live but there are 17 Stepping Stone Schools in Austin.

Hi Erin,

I'm not sure what area you live in, but we just started a new Program at the Hill Country Galleria (Bee Cave area). We are called Hill Country Kids and we have a studio there. We offer tons of differnt Summer Camp classes that are going to be getting started this coming week! Please let me know if I can answer any questions about the classes.

Thanks,

Children's Courtyard has a pretty good program. They alternate between bringing entertainment in and going on field trips. I also like Camp Doublecreek, because they pick up and drop off at local schools, so it's not such a commute for me.

Thanks a lot for the suggestions, Kendall. We are actually looking for something for 4-8 weeks. I am still working, so we need something for Madison to do during the day. I guess we can also have her try out a few different camps to see what she likes.
