My son will turn 2 on July 20. We're looking for an indoor location to hold his party. There will be a mix of adults and kids - but we're only expecting 5-8 kids total.

I took my daughter to a birthday party at a bouncy place and it was a bit much for her at 2.5. She got frustrated when she couldn't do things or the bigger kids accidentally knocked her down. So that might not be the best. Not that I have any better suggestions, lol. Just wanted to share my experience.

Jumpy Gym at Slaughter/Manchaca is great. Estelina works very hard to make every bday great and I have been to several there.

Going Bananas is a really cool indoor play gym. They have Bounce houses, slides and toys for the babies too! Great for kids all ages and under one is free. They also have a nice set up area with big tables for refreshments. Just remember to bring your socks!

We had my son's party at Lifetime Fitness and they did a great job. Other fun options where we've attended parties are The Little Gym and Capital Gymnastics.
Good Luck!

It isn't indoor, but kids love it and it is a cheap birthday - Phil's/Amy's Icecream...the grown ups can hang back and have a beer or a glass of wine while the kids can play on the playground and have icecream...we just have our 1 year old's party there last month and it was great...

Great ideas. We live in central Austin, so we're pretty flexible.

My daughter is a June birthday, so we used to stay indoors, too. You don't mention if you are north or south, and I'm kind of north biased. We always liked Gymboree for toddlers. It's set up just for them, and the parachute is always a hit. But the adults will pretty much be observers there. Ditto for the Austin Children's Museum. The inflatable places like Pump-it-Up may be too hard for 2 year olds, but they are cool summer fun. If you are just looking for a place to gather, maybe a restaurant with a playscape, like Waterloo Ice House or Joe's Crab Shack? We've even commandeered mall food court tables for cake after a movie or Build-a-Bear party. There is also Austin Park and Pizza, on I35, or Gattiland, but those places are pretty loud.
