My 3 1/2 year old boy has aspergers and my daughter who is 2 1/2 has some traits, we are still waiting and seeing, but she started having seizures a year ago that came from the same part of the brain that affects autism. She has sensory issues too. There is a family that lives near me that has 6 children on the autistic spectrum. I don't know how they do it. They found out when there kids were a lot older that there was something not right. I can't imagine having one spinning circles, one opening and shutting all the doors in the house, one unmaking all the beds, one banging his head, one sitting rocking and watching a movie, and one spinning and lining up toys all at the same time. It makes me feel a lot better that it really could be worse!

Yes, I have two boys. One was severe autism, the other more moderate. Have you had any metabolic testing done? Our neuro says that additional testing should be done when two children in a family are on the spectrum. Are there any other issues? My children had gi issues, low muscle tone, and some other problems. They both responded to the GFCF diet, and then made additional improvements when we started treating the underlying disorder.
Good luck!
Julie
