Autism Alert bracelet. Where can we get one?

Does anyone have any good websites where we can get a medical bracelet for my son. He loves to wander (wandered away from his preschool TWICE) and doesn't respond to his name, is unaware of surroundings and has no fear or stranger danger. He is a functioning non verbal. We live in Canada, and we are trying to find a good bracelet, He's 3 years old and has sensory issues and I'm worried that a metal bracelet, so we think fabic is better. Can anyone help?

Hi Summer my son has ASD also and I was in the same boat as you are in. What my son uses is a Italian Charm bracelet and you can specially design it with charms that your child likes and it also has Autism Alert, his name and Allergy alert just like the Med Alert Bracelet and necklaces do. I also use in places where there are crowds and on field trips a temporary tattoo that has a puzzle piece on it and it says I have autism if i am lost, please help me be found then it has a place to put your name and phone number I got it from this awesome website www.lucasworks.org The tattoo kit comes with cleaning wipes, pen, 6 temporary tattoos and alcohol wipes for removal. They also have which my son uses to is shoe ID It's and ID that goes on there shoe with all of the important info on it. I highly recommend this website you won't be disappointed. Good luck to you.

I just bought one for my son that is soft rubber and waterproof and its a usb hub in it already , that you plug into your computer and you can log any emergency info into and any ifno you dont want seen only by doctors so forth or by you , you can encript , with thier program. so you can go that route to if he has medcial issues on top of the autism like my son . Like one of the other moms said, when my son was pre school age i attached a clip on kep ring to his pants loop. It was small enough for him not to notice but if he got away it would alert anyone that found him.

The other thing I do is attach a keyring to a back pack, it can either be one of the ones you're supposed to put photo's in that you can write all the info on, or I make beaded ones, With the name and mobile of who he is with, or just Autistic on one side and Be Patient on the other if you don't want lots of info on it, that way if a tannoy system is used they can say it's a child with a certain keyring on. Just some ideas :O)

Hi Summer, both my two daughters are on the Spectrum, one an Aspie the other just ASD. My younger one, the Aspie is a selective mute so we put a bracelet on her as soon as we found out. She also has sensory issues and it took a while for her to comes to terms with the bracelet. We are in Australia but you should try a website called Star Allergy Alerts. They have these really cool bracelets that have a material band but a metal disc and the bands come with different designs. I actually think they have a home page in USA. We never take her bracelet off. What we have done is engrave her name on the front under the word Autism and on the back we have put my mobile and her Dad's mobile number and she knows to point to it if in trouble. Anyway, have a look they have some great products.
