My son's last birthday was the best one we've had (although he's only wanted the a couple of times...) We called the Wilderness Center (we're in Ohio) and asked what options there were-- the kids had just studied Space in science and were totally into it-- so, they had a planetarium show and got to see the telescopes-- then did an anti gravity (pully on the ceiling and they swung in the air) thing -- I think they called it the moon walk (great sensory!) and did cake and astronaut ice cream and a few snacks. One of the kids said it was the best birthday party ever! :) A few things we did that I think made it successful besides the party activities-- We transported. We only invited 6 kids. I sent a note to all the parents to introduce myself and tell them what the plan was-- and sent the invitation directly to the kids. 5/6 kids came-- and the other was out of town that weekend. It was a GREAT party-- and 8 months later the kids are still talking about it.

Age is a big factor. Bowling parties are fun for elementary aged kids. Let us know how old, and I can give you more ideas.

When is his birthday? Is it near a holiday? You can do a holiday themed party. Last two years we did a Christmas Ornament party since my son's birthday is in December. I suppose it also depends on how old he is too.
