I have a 22 year old daughter that has Epilepsy and Aspergers. She has no regard for safety. I really would like to know if anyone has any helpful hints for me. I just need to know how I can help her help herself. She invites people into the home because she wants to have "friends" and some have stolen things, and some have even physically harmed her....but she does not see anything wrong with her behaviors. I do not know what to do...College was not a successful option nor was vocational training. She is not able to drive, and achieving gainful employment is a task. My biggest concern is the safety risk that she puts herself in, and does not perceive it as being a concern. What is a mom to do? I just want her to be alright....She cuts herself as well. We go to counseling, I have shaved my work hours down to almost part time....Can anyone relate? Any advice?

Try your local Autism Chapter for resources. They may have some classes or something for her to take. Also try Autism Speaks. This is very dangerous. Obviously. And I hope you can get some help for her. Maybe you can find something that will teach her about strangers....
