I belong to Talk About Curing Autism(TACA) which has been a wonderful support to my family. TACA has meeting all over the United States. You can check out their website
www.talkaboutcuringautism.org there is a ton of information that you might find helpful. I hope you find that this information was helpful.

I would contact your local early intervention services. In this area, it's through the school system -- I don't know what that would be for Southern California.

Good luck!!!

check out the autism society of america. They have chapters in each state that are a good local resource for emotional and educational support and legal advocacy too. They can help you navigate the school system. They have parent advocates who will answer questions you have specific to what is available in your area. The chapter in MN is exceptional. The one in CA might be just as good. You can also try talking to the other parents in the waiting room at therapy sessions to make friends who get it. I find they are amost always willing to chat.

Hi Brandy- here is a link listing resources for Southern California. Hopefully you can find something through it. It is a pretty extensive list. http://www.danasview.net/socal.htm

Good luck!

Try the Autism website to connect you to some of the local groups around your area.

Quoting Barbara :

Contact your local hospital or mental health organization and they can tell you if there are any lcoal autism support groups in your area. Havinjg a child with autism can be difficult and overwhelming at times and I know that you dont always have time to get on line and wait to get a response from a parent. So having a support that is lcoal is a good idea. Also if there is not one in your area after you contact one of these two places these are the places that could help you start one good luck

Awsome thanks!
