My 4 year old son has sensory processing dissorder and speech and development delays. His Occupational therapist has arranged for him to visit the local childrens hospital for a HEPAC assessment. I'm hoping this is to get a clearer picture of how delayed he is and what help he should be having. I'm worried that he may be autistic. Can they diagnose autism in just one assessment? i'm very confused!!

From what i know...now i m not positive....but when my son went to the childrens hospital he had an assessment with a psychologist (is that the HEPAC?) They diagnosed him that day, he was 22 months old. Basically they play little games with him, all kinds of different ones and u fill out paperwork.

I couldn't find anything about a HEPAC assessment - however, I did find this information on an autism diagnosis:

I don't know how similar they are, but hope that you find the information useful.
