My husband and I met with a developmental ped and was told that they are wanting to do the official "Autism" test on our 3 year old son. Our son also has a genetic disorder (chromosome 10) and also had a MRI that showed that he had mild CP. Could it be possible that he has Autism on top of everything else. I'm feeling like I'm drowning in information and worrying about my son. This is getting more and more stressful with every new doctors appt.

Any help, tips, suggestions, or advice would be appreciated.

I'm sorry I can't be of more help, but I did try to do a little research for you. It seems like having both is possible but not common and the symptoms of each could overlap making it difficult to determine which came from what. Basically sounding like if there was a confirmed case of CP that many autistic like traits would be attributed to the CP as opposed to adding on a diagnosis of autism- or flipped, if CP was very mild or inconclusive they would look at autism to see if that answered some questions regarding development.
