Hi Amanda! Welcome! You're definitely not alone...my son (who is now 21) didn't get diagnosed until he was 9 and once we looked back too I realized how many signs we had missed. BUT...the important thing is, your son will now get the support and understanding he needs to learn and grow. Parenting any child isn't easy and there are many times that parenting a child with autism is even harder but it is worth it -- love him and support him through the tough times and you will both grow stronger and more sure of yourselves! Definitely take advantage of any services and programs that are available to you, including any possible respite programs because time for you is important too.
When YOU need advice and a friend reach out to all of us too!
