Our metabolic specialist says that when two or more children in a family are affected, there should be further testing. I would try to get records if they have had testing. A great site for information is umdf.org. For years I did not realize that my younger son's low muscle tone was a symptom of a greater problem.

As for treating the autism, we have done the GFCF diet (our most important therapy), probiotics, EFAs, ABA, Speech, and OT. TACA Now has lots of good information on autism therapy. I pulled my children out of school a little more than 4 yeas ago so we have not had much in the way of behavioral therapy. Thankfully, we have had really good results.

they have done some testing but they are not saying too much :S they are both in school programs 5 days a week and they also have in home therapy 20hrs a week. they are both doing well and improving but they still have a very long way to go.

have you done alot with your kids?

Hi, I also have two children who were affected with autism. Have you had any metabolic or genetic testing done on them? What are you doing for therapy?
