How do a join this group! I have not been on this website for a while and just got back on today. I have a 3 1/2 year old with Autism. He does a lot of edge stimming any one else out there have kids that Stim and how do you deal with it? I just need some new idea's We do redirect and have 40 hours of 1 to 1 aba therapy through lovaas in our home a week. I just would like maybe some new idea's I could try

I think I wrote what I wanted in the subject line.
I have a 3 1/2 year old with Autism. He stimming is been a lot lately and looking for some new idea's for it. We have an i-pad which he does play it good. He will not play with a tub of toys and always needs to have someone playing with him one on one. Any idea's out there how to reduce stimming?

You need to let them stim or they go into sensory over load. Don't discourage your child or they will learn it is wrong when it is not wrong =)

At that age, nothing much helps. Just give it time. My son actually outgrew most of the stimming. At least the more noticeable. However he now has mild tourettes so....
