I have a son 14, with severe autism, nonverbal. His problem is he doesn't sleep. We have tried melatonin, ativan, clonopine - Nothing works, it seems to keep him up instead of putting him to sleep. Any one else out there having this problem? Any solutions??

And they'll give him ATIVAN, but not Xanax??????

Hmm, I wonder if Seroquel would work.

The clonapine is 1mg (taking 2). He also took Trazodone 150 MG, and Lorazepam 1 mg (taking 2). I mentioned Xanax. Doc wouldn't give it to me. These drugs seem to have an adverse effect on him. We also tried Benadryl. OUr next step is some type of night time cold medicine.

Xanax? Maybe they aren't dosing him correctly........that stuff should knock him out unless they aren't giving him enough. How many mg was he on?
