I'm new to this... and I'm scared! My son is 28 months has not been diagnosed but is getting reevaluated. The first evaluation he was just said to have a developmental delay, but under observation for Autism. They gave him speech once a week, OT and a teacher for half hour every other week. Two to three months later I know my son has regressed so much... his speech therapist gave up on him, and he hasn't received speech in a month - apparently it is difficult for some absurd reason to find an English speaking speech therapist in queens, ny. I hate the entire process. I need to know if anyone knows of a daycare in or around queens,ny with teachers trained to help children on the spectrum. He has always been taken care of by his grandparents but we are testing having him in a daycare - he was doing fine but lately he's just in his own world. And I'm tired of going to pick him up at the center and finding him in a corner spinning some object - we've told them to redirect him but they say they can't force him to be where he doesn't want to be. HELP!
