Losing baby teeth

My 10 year old son with autism is losing a baby tooth today and it is really bothering him. I guess because it feels weird in his mouth. I keep telling him it's ok, that you have to lose your little teeth to get your big teeth. Just not sure how much he understands. He has lost other baby teeth and it didn't seem to bother him but this one sure is. Any suggestions to make this easier for him? He's nonverbal but he did come out and point to his mouth and put my finger on the tooth so I would know what was wrong.

Would he enjoy a picture book about losing teeth? What about a cold cloth to chew on? Maybe it is hurting a little more than the others...is it a molar?

Good luck,
