Hello. My name is Christie. I have two children. Chandler is the oldest at 7 years old. At 3 years of age he was diagnosed with PDD-NOS. At 4 years we narrowed it down to Asperger syndrome. He is now in 2nd grade in a general education classroom with the support of a program in the school for social lessons. He is thriving.

My daughter Jamie is 4 years old. She had a educational diagnosis of Autism at 2 years of age. Now she is in a great special needs preschool and doing well. We are in the process of having a medical diagnosis done. She has recently started speech therapy as well.

I would love to get to know other mothers in this group who have some fantastic children just as I do.

My son was diagnosed a month before he was 2 with borderline Autism with PDD. He is now in third grade and general education. He has a one on one aide and receives speech and counseling. He is doing really awesome academically. He reads 4th grade level reading books. But this year is a tough year because he is constantly getting meltdowns. He isn't allowed in Walmart when I do my grocery shopping because of the huge meltdwon that he had. Too much around him and he was over stimulated. It took over an hour to get him to actually coherently know that we were talking to him. Soon we are starting to get parent training to help us out with meltdowns, tantrums, etc.

I have an almost 3 year old that likes to rough house. Just a normal 2 yr old with tantrums.
